Hmmmm. Trying to think... probably my 12 inch Dark Vash figure with real vinyl coat... I love him, though. I cuddle him when I sleep at night! I spent... $35, I think. Either that or my artbooks... that Cowboy Bebop art book I got might have been more than that, I do not remember.

Oh! I just remembered something!

It's not official merchandise, but I spent $60+ on my Vash coat... made by a friend of mine. I paid her $50 for the coat, with $10 for mailing costs thrown in, and I painted a small mirror for her with her favorite character, Legato - I painted the mirror specificiall for her for the art trade, so throw in costs of materials for that, plus the love I gave it, and there you go. The cosplay coat is non-official merchandise, but is my most expsensive and most prized piece.

Why does the business of growing up - one's recollections of growth itself - have to be so tragic? I still haven't found the answer. I doubt if anyone has. When I finally reach that stage at which the placid wisdom of old age, with the dry clarity that comes toward autumn's end, occasionally descends on a person, then I too may suddenly discover that I too understand. But I doubt whether, by that time, understanding will have much point.Yukio Mishima

Do games count? If so, I'd have to say my Hamtaro games. (Especially since I also had to buy a Game Boy Advance just to play them. Not cheap.)

I'd have to say my "Anime Explosion" book by Patrick Drazen. Since I buy mostly anime DVDs, I don't really buy any anime merchandise.

The book's okay, btw, but only if you're going to using it for school or something.

There's this AWESOME Hikaru no Go artbook I want that is $60... but I don't have the money for it.

The most I have spent is (collectively) $60 on Naruto figurines. It is all of team 7, and they look awesome! Kakashi rocks the house.

Well, it's not technically anime, but I have a Final Fantasy 7 resin figure of Vincent that was around 75 or 80 dollars. A couple people mentioned Hikaru no Go artbooks and I wouldn't mind having one of those. I love Hikaru no Go! The manga art is just gorgeous. ^_^

I spent quite a lot on my Record of the Lodoss Wars - Chronicles of the Heroic Knight box set. To my dismay ... it's gone down considerably in price now. Box sets are a killer.

For anime "stuff" ... I think my St Tail figure was the most expensive.

Man, that sucks. Sorry to hear that.

Besides the box sets I've bought (Trigun was the most expensive box set for me, $150), I think the 'single' most expensive item was a custom airbrushed Faye Valentine pillow I bought at Anime Expo, $60.

The next was the Limited Aluminum Box for my Evangelion DVDs (only 2,000 made). That alone cost me $50, then included for an extra $15 I got the remastered version of the first dvd (when it was first released it had some audio and menu glitches) So a grand total of about $80 after shipping and tax. It's so shiny and nice compared to all the cardboard boxes around it. :-D

I've got a few things, most of which I have recently purchased:
$60-Transformers: Unicron figure, although that may or may not be considered "anime."

$50-Dragonball Z: Budokai video game for Playstation 2 (the sequel comes out soon! ).

Over the summer I will probably make some more major dvd purchases (having a job and money helps, after all ;) ), such as the Yu Yu Hakusho complete series.

Oh yeah...my Berserk Fury zoid model cost $45 after S&H.

Edit: didn't see the part about no dvd's. Oops. :hits_self

I think I spent 5 dollars once in mexico for a sailor Venus keychain, and then 10 more for another one and a piccolo one for my friends... of course, in retrospect they were prolly all fakes... Too late now...
