I did like the fact that she had no will to live, but I similarly think it's a bit much to have a woman die in childbirth given such extensive technology. Even were it possible, it is near the line between plot device and plot contrivence.

What I found ridiculous was that Padme was filled with maternal joy at the birth of her twins but "decided" to die anyway. Talk about sloppy writing. I think Georgie boy must have run out of ideas.

It would have made a lot more sense to have Padme die on Alderaan, when Vader blows it up. Leia could have still lived with Bail Organa, in order to hide her from Vader or whatever, and they wouldn't have had to kill Padme off in childbirth. I don't know, maybe it would have left one too many plot holes, but I think that they should have killed her off in a different way. FOR INSTANCE: The fact that she dies at childbirth doesn't make much sense, because, in Eps. VI, as Luke is talking with Leia, he asks her if she remembers her mother, "her real one." Bail Organa's wife was not her real mother. Luke and Leia both know this, and yet Leia still says that she does remember her real mother. How could she remember her mother, if she only saw her at birth? Considering the fact that babies only see blurred shapes for their first few weeks, this makes no sense at all. O.o

I don't know, maybe I'm analyzing too much. But, it's certainly something to think about...>.>

This has been discussed in the episode III thread, and the general consensus is that Leia considered Miss Organa her real mother...meaning that she must have died when Leia was a child, and Leia...

Y'know, it's just easier to call George Lucas an idiot.

"But sir, no one ever worries about upsetting a droid."

"That's because droids don't pull people's arms out of their sockets when they lose. Wookies are known to do that."

"I see your point, sir. I suggest a new strategy, R2: Let the Wookie win."

While playing RPG's (with pancil and paper, even!) we used a Star Wars phrase a lot. So, I'll list it as my favorite:

Luke: With the blast shield down, I can't see anything. How am I supposed to fight?

Least favorite, hands down, is the only line I winced at when it was spoken. I rolled my eyes a lot, but only one made me wince.
Obi-Wan: Only the Sith deal in absolutes.

That's why I'd be a sith.

My favorite line ever is
Obiwan said you turned to the darkside! you killed Younglings!

it seems funny that the dark side is somthing that you can decide to turn to on a whim, and yet it suddenly makes the person transform into an inhuman monster who only wants to kill everything. (oh, i guess i'll go DESTROY MANKIND today... hmm, wonder if it's going to rain?)

"I've been waiting a long time for this, about a month." - emporor palpatine, EP 3

Also, any line where they jst casually toss in a random technical sounding part, just for effect. It's the reason i keep watchhing the movies.

BTW, dying of a broken heart is actually a medical condition, when somehow the blood vessels in your heart burst because of high emotional stress. (although it is unlikely)

Favorite Quotes:
Leia: Into the garbage chute flyboy!

Leia: Will someone get this big walking carpet out of my way?

Wedge: Look at the size of that thing!
Red Leader: Cut the chatter Red 2

Han Solo: Afraid I was gonna leave without giving you a goodbye kiss?
Leia: I'd just as soon kiss a Wookiee.
Han Solo: I can arrange that. You could use a good kiss.

C-3PO: At last, Master Luke's come to rescue me!
Bib Fortuna: Master.
[Jabba wakes up with a start]
Bib Fortuna: May I present Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight?
Jabba the Hutt: I told you not to admit him.
Luke: I must be allowed to speak.
Bib Fortuna: He must be allowed to speak.
Jabba the Hutt: You weak minded fool. He's using an old Jedi mind trick.
[Jabba shoves Bib Fortuna aside]
Luke: You will bring Captain Solo and the wookieee to me.
[Jabba laughs]
Jabba the Hutt: Your mind powers will not work on me boy.
Luke: Nevertheless, I am taking Captain Solo and his friends. You can either profit by this or be destroyed. It's your choice, but I warn you not to underestimate my power.

Han: Boba Fett? Boba Fett? Where?
[Han turns around and smacks boba fett's jetpack, causing it to malfunction]
[Boba fett flies into the side of the sail barge, and falls into the Sarlaac pit]

and my MOST favorite line ever
Lando Calrissian: Yes, I said closer. Move as close as you can and engage those Star Destroyers at point blank range.
Admiral Ackbar: At that close range we won't last long against those Star Destroyers.
Lando Calrissian: We'll last longer than we will against that Death Star, and we might just take a few of them with us.

Another favorite:

(paraphrase) Yoda: "Your weapons, you will not need them. You take only what you bring in there."

I was 6 when I first heard that and it made perfect sense to me. Sublime, almost.

A stinky one:

Anakin: "I've been dying since I met you Padme."

(A little later . . . .)

Padme: "I've been dying too."

Favorite: When I left you I was but the learner. Now, I am the master.

Only a Sith deals in absolutes. I will do what I must.

I killed them. I killed them all. They're dead, every single one of them. And not just the men, but the women and the children, too. They're like animals, and I slaughtered them like animals. I HATE THEM. (cause my friend gets ticked off when I say that  )

It's against my programming to impersonate a deity.

Give yourself to the Dark Side. It is the only way you can save your friends. Yes, your thoughts betray you. Your feelings for them are strong. Especially for... sister. So, you have a twin sister. Your feelings have now betrayed her, too. Obi-Wan was wise to hide her from me. Now his failure is complete. If you will not turn to the Dark Side... then perhaps she will -

One of my all time favorite cinematic scenes

Obi-Wan: You were the chosen one! It was said that you would destroy the Sith, not join them. You were to bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness!
Anakin Skywalker: I hate you!
Obi-Wan: You were my brother, Anakin. I loved you.

Least Favorite: Wait we're Jedi, we're smarter then this!
Hold me, Ani! Hold me, like you did by the lake on Naboo!
Any of Anakin or Padme's lines in Attack of the Clones
