Cinderella Man

Postby SpikeSpiegel306 » Fri Jun 17, 2005 3:42 pm

I was surprised to see that no one had put up a thread for this movie yet...or maybe they did and I didnt catch it :brow:

Anyways, this movie was awesome! If you havent seen it, you should! I would almost guarantee Oscar Nominations for best actor and movie...if not the Oscars themselves. Definitely a must see for the summer folks. It starts off a bit slow, but after about 30 minutes, it will keep you on the edge of your seat until the credits start to roll.

I want to see it, but the title seems.....oxymoronish.

I have to agree. I'm sure it is good, but the title alone was enough to turn me off. Besides, I don't care much for boxing movies anyways.

I agree with Spike, it was an awesome movie. Don't let the title scare you off. :) Once you see it, you'll understand why it's called Cinderella Man.

I agree, Cinderella Man rocked! It was by far one of the better movies I've seen all year. The story was great and touching which never seemed to drag. Also, being a boxing fan, how can I ask for more? Even if you aren't a boxing fan, this movie is worth the watch. Like SpikeSpiegel306 said, I wouldn't be surprised if it wins a lot of awards.

If I may give my testimony on the film: When my friends were going to see it, I did not really want to see it and if they hadn't gone, I probably never would have seen it. I was only going to be with them. I'm not really that big of a boxing fan to begin with.

Once I saw the movie....wow, it was fabulous! Definately a must see. The language can go overboard at times, but yeah....you must see it. And the title of the film isn't arbitrary, it does have some significance. If you wanna blame anyone for the name 'Cinderella Man', blame the Depression-era press, who were the ones who coined the name for James J. Braddock.
