Weiss Kruez Gluhen

Postby Mave » Wed Nov 05, 2003 6:45 pm

Hi everyone...

just a continued discussion of Weiss Kruez Gluhen between me and MyrrhLynn, feel free to join in. :)

Ok, I haven't watch Gluhen yet..I did watch the original TV series though. I'm not really a big fan of WK but I do like the manga by Kyoko Tsuchiya a lot. The idea of florists disguising as assasins is kinda awkward for me...even for anime standards. But everyone to their own level of weirdness.

My main comment is on the revised Gluhen character designs. Aya was surprisingly an improvement to me since I dislike his frowns, scrowls (wrong spelling), basically unpleasant look he always had on his face. His braided hair is not bad...reminds me of Duo of GW, but in generally, I really like the newer design of Aya.

However, for all the other characters....IMO, it's really sad. The worst is a tie between Yohji and Ken. Ken's clothing is just...erm too girly (ok Kadzuki of Getbackers had a valid reason), he looked like has hips or something. No one walks around in daylight wearing that! The main thing I really detest about Yohji's design is that annoying big red cross on his body. What's the deal with that?

Alright, I'm leaving this post as it is...before I keep yakking and yakking...someone stop me! :dizzy:

Well the only one I have seen is Gluhen. I wrote a review of it but I need to add some stuff before I can get it approved my the admins to post here. Actually I should have finished it like 3 weeks ago. Me bad. :red:

I don't really know for sure what the characters designs of the original series were. Overall I just didn't like Gluhen though, mostly because to me the plot was dumb.

There was this phsyic (sp?? ) guy that shows up at the end that is cool though. I wish we could have seen him more. :sniffle:

Which one is Ken again? I am trying to remember how he has girly clothing.

I've only seen Weiss Krauss KnightHunter (not sure what the relationship is). I can only say that it stinks though. I mean, when you can predict the plot of the entire episode based on the 30-second preview, you know it's bad. Plus the ludicrous overuse of flahsback scenes.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Spot the difference, everyone! :P

And here's Ken's scary clothing....it's not frills and ribbons but it's the hourglass figure, poofy shoulders and tight pants that I can't stand. <screams and runs>

Ahh yes now i remember. You actually don't see him in his scary girl clothes that often (which is why I couldn't remember them) so you have nothing to worry about. ;) And Yohji's red cross is annoying too. I'm trying to remember if it is a permanent thing or just something he has for his "Weiss" clothes.

I'm assuming you're talking about Schuldich (red head?). If there was something fun in WK, it was watching the bad guys whipped the good guys (well, maybe except Omi...I sometimes have a soft spot for that kid since his circumstances sucked, don't know about Gluhen though). Schwarz was a pretty decent villian group, IMO, even though their goals were kinda twarped. Now Schereint puts all female anime characters to shame though. >_<

I also liked Nagi Naoe (cool powers!). He was a really confused young kid who was taught to do something he didn't really like ...I like characters like that...(only wished he didn't like a certain someone).

I'm not bagging this show out or anything, but I felt revolted when I found out that one of the members I thought was a "girl" was really a guy. That was actually the first time i've been seen an anime guy looking so much like girl, although now I just think "thats weird" instead of "aahhhhhhh what the heck?!? thats just wrong!!!!"which is what I used to think. I can see girls having no problem with it though, heh. just like I had no problem when I found out Samus was female and not a guy.

(edited: yay, my first post after the day I turned 20. woohoo.)

No no he didn't have red hair it was brown. And he showed very little emotion. He stopped a bullet. :thumb: That rocks in my book. Actually I swear it is the same kid you have a picture of on your site. I can't remember his name though and I don't have access to the episode he is in either to check. :sniffle:

:brow: whom exactly are you talking about? I didn't think there were girly bishonens in WK (as compared to bishies like Kurama and Kazuki  ) but I can understand your reaction.

MyrrhLynn: ooooooohhhhhh you're talking about Nagi-kun? oh yeah, he's my fav (well, not much to choose from anyway hoho)! I got confused....schuldich can read ppl's minds, while Nagi does some funky psychic powers. oh yeah, that boy has got cool powers! I haven't seen the scene you mentioned but man, it's gotta to be cool. Nagi-kun acts like the arrogant, reserved cold type but in the TV series, he did show some 'affections' to a certain someone (female, don't worry).

Actually, it was through some wallpapers I found about Weizz Cruz that I saw the girly guy, not the actual anime. The guy I thought was a guy was in a sailor uniform... I figured he was probably just like some other girly guy I saw in another anime show about high schools, who was indeed in love with the main character who was a guy.

huh? Well, I only know one official pic of the Weiss guys in sailor uniform but it was quite masculine. Maybe you saw a doujinshi/fanart version? :dizzy: And I don't recall explicitly obvious yaoi/shounen hintings in WK (unless I'm just immune to it...hehe)

[off topic] BTW, saw the drawings you're doin for The Fall Manga and some on deviantart. Cool! It's also really nice of you to help out. Keep up the great job! Now don't keep UC and the rest of us waiting too long, hehe... ;)
