Thwarting Anonymity

Postby FadedOne » Tue Jun 14, 2005 1:59 am

Hiya. :)

So I'm randomly awake 4:30 in the morning and have found that writing Who's Who threads is like THE thing to do when beyond sleep. so I decided to be cool and join the club. hehe....actually I'm just disturbed that Ive managed to lurk so well after 7 1/2 months and figured it was time for a little 'get to know everyone'. Besides, it's an excuse to have a thread all about ME. meeeeee...the world shall fall down at my feet and wor....er NO, not what i meant! i'm just humble like that.

(warning...very insomniac hyper here. anything could be said)

Um so yeah, about me. My name is Lara (or Laura if you prefer to be normal. I however do not.). I'm 19 going all too fast on 20. So fast in fact that sometimes I catch myself being pre-emptively 20 without realizing.
I'm destined to college in slightly less than 9 weeks, major currently unknown. In fact, i'll be highly likely if I can figure out what direction i'm heading a YEAR from now. But hey....trying to be optimistic. I'd love to say I am an optimist, but no. It totally depends on outlook...somedays life sucks royal and other days it's all looking up. very odd.

hm...I have no idea what else to write here. I could go in depth in many directions, not too worried about stalkers lol, but I'm not sure how interesting it would be or whether anyone would care to read. I guess I still consider myself to be a newbie here because I've observed much more than participated. Still, everyone has been quite kind and Ive been blessed by some of the people I've met through the site, not to mention all the anime advice...

Random things I love: anime -- the best kind are moving stories that can break my heart and bring me to tears, Christian music(Sanctus Real :jump: ), soundtrack stuff, being understood(it's really rare lol), random kindnesses, fresh air, skygazing, stargazing, long rambly conversations, encouragment, people who smile, pizza, listening to others, feeling like my life has a purpose.

anyways....there's much more I could say here about past and present, but I"m not going to let my head get too big and think anyone actually wants to read. So yeah...hiiii to all. Feel free to ask odd questions. I like them. :)

God bless,

Lara

me too, except I also like a lot of ACTION! Have you seen Noir? Do you also read manga?

being understood(it's really rare lol)

I don't understand. o_0 What do you mean? ;) Yeah, I'm pulling your leg. :P

random kindnesses

I just love this. :) I don't think anyone has ever mentioned this on their bio before.

fresh air

so necessary >.> *takes a deep breath* Do you live in a big city?

skygazing

What is your favorite kind of sky to gaze at? Do you like clouds?

stargazing

I love to look at a full moon even more. Have you ever howled at the moon?

long rambly conversations

These are the best kind of conversations :thumb:

encouragment

You're doing great on this bio! :thumb:

people who smile

^_____________________________________________^
me too
I sometimes think people think I'm insane because I smile so much. Every day is a gift, though, isn't it?

pizza

So, is this your all-time fave food? What is your favorite dessert?

listening to others

A favorite pasttime of mine, too.

feeling like my life has a purpose.

That's a good reason to do deep Bible study. I'm glad you're in our study, Lara. And, I'm glad I finally read your bio.

^______^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Ha! So you've decided to tell US about yourself. Thanks.

So, what's your favorite card game?
If you had three wishes to ask Aladdin's genie, what would they be?
Do you know how to ride a bike?

*hugs the Valerie(sp?)/TNChloe personage for noticing her thread* lol, i was feeling lonely here.

me too, except I also like a lot of ACTION! Have you seen Noir? Do you also read manga?

Not seen Noir yet. And yeah, I love action too. The best kind of anime is loaded w/ character development, drama, tiny bit of romance, and lots of violence. XD and yeah...ive only read a tiny bit of manga. Some Trigun and Kenshin. hopefully more eventually, but I dont know wehre to start.

I just love this. I don't think anyone has ever mentioned this on their bio before.
lol, thanks. Random kindness is one of the greatest things in the world. along with people who smile. That's the kind of things that life connections and relationships(however brief) are made of. good stuff. ^_^

Do you live in a big city?

nope. actually i'm on the edge of a small 'city' but we have a field across from us. It's lovely. I dont know if I could ever want to live in the city. I'm sure there's great benefits, but I need my dark evenings and quiet cricket noises and such.

What is your favorite kind of sky to gaze at? Do you like clouds?
I love to look at a full moon even more. Have you ever howled at the moon?

yeah lol, i'm cloud obsessed sometimes. I love taking pictures of skies. Fav kind? um....it depends on my mood alot, but overall probably really DEEP blue skies that seem to go on forever with huge other-worldly puffy white clouds and some wispy ones. The kind of skies that try to convince you there's a whole 'nother world up in those clouds, and if you could only get high enough you'd be in paradise. good stuff.

LoL...and yes, I have howled at the moon before. Not as loud and mournful as I'd like  but I have. it's FUN.

So, is this your all-time fave food? What is your favorite dessert?

mm...not necessarily all-time, but it's fun. Can't say I have an all-time fav food. I do adore Italian & Italian-American food though (it's in the genes  ). As far as desert goes, um...the REALLY good ice-cream place here that has Choco-mint and other insane chocolate flavors. oooh...and cheesecake rocks! Especially semi-frozen. And now i'm getting really insanely hungry.

Laraness is such a cool person. Yeah. That's cool that you posted this, Laraness.

lol, and you..the Jamieness...are awesome beyond reason.
thanks!

*waves*

1. um..I love Phase10, Rummy, Setback(most probably dont know this one..Dad taught me it. so yeah.), poker for spare change , etc. I'm rather disturbingly competitive at times.

2. 3 wishes? ack..that's always tough. specially since my answers would be insanely vain. :p If you want my materialistic answers....um...that my family would have enough money so Dad wouldn't have to work so hard, that i'd be happy w/ how I look and stop worry so much, and that a certain uh...relationship would work out. :red:

But if you want an answer that encompasses all.....I want Christ to return and for His will to be the reigning power over all. very much. Granted a genie isn't going to work that one lol, but im so impatient. so yeah..

3. uh...yes and no. I used to, but I hate a grudge against bikes. i'm a danger to myself as it is, I dont need to be going at even greater speeds. so yeah lol... Im sure I can since one 'never forgets' according to the old saying, but I never do ride.

lol....these are fun to answer. *requests more questions* :jump:

God's been showing me how important random kindess is in the context of just being out in the world, like at Wal-Mart or driving down the road. For example, learning how to smile at and encourage the clerk who is having a hard time ringing up your stuff and not complaining about the lines!

I like the card game where you slap hands, I think it is Desert Rat Screw but I always thinking of it as Egyptian Squirrel something or other.

Good bio!

thanks Kaoru :)

hm..fav movie? I love the LOTR trilogy, Matrix movies, Star Wars III, Ever After, Kate & Leopold, etc...but favourites are hard lol. too many.

um...I know bits and pieces of latin, spanish, japanese(tiny tiny bit ), and Italian which i've randomly obsessed over. technically i took 2 years spanish, but im no good at it unless you want to know where the bathroom is or something dumb yet useful like that. XD

My most overused emoticon is DEFINITELY :P but the CAA one doesn't work as well. not as teasing as i'd like...lol. However, AIM tounge-sticking-out smileys are awesome and way over-used.

thanks for the questions!
