about set designing? I'm working on a production, but I'm still kinda new at it. Any tips are much appreciated!
I'm in love with this song!!
Lion
Mysterious, that's what I call you.
I'm curious about you.
I'm scared and I'm not sure that you are safe.
But, something in your eyes says you are good.
This is not a dream that I'm living,
this is just a world of your own.
You took me from all that I knew,
showed me how it feels to hope.
With you with me, facing tomorrow together,
I could learn to fly.
It feels like I'm living in the lion's mouth,
but the lion is an angel.
Wise eyes, you see the core of me.
Your gentleness melts me.
Now I know that words cannot describe
the power that I feel when I'm with you.
This is not a dream that I'm living,
this is just a world of your own.
You took me from all that I knew,
showed me how it feels to hope.
With you with me, facing tomorrow together,
I could learn to fly.
It feels like I'm living in the lion's mouth,
but the lion is...
peace and power
love forever.
Who am I to stand before you?
I am speechless,
but in my weakness you are here and all is well.

Shadowchild is my imoto-chan!! ^_^

What exactly do you want tips on? Could you be a little more specific about what you need help with? I am not that experienced, but I may have some tips that can help you.

Painting techniques, and maybe ways to make it not so expensive. I've got a really low budget. T_T

Sponges! *yay* Sponges are great for painting bricks onna set. ^_^ a dry sponge with not a ton of paint on it can leave a pretty convincing brick-mark.

btw, what production are you working on? *curious* ^_^
Love wins.

Cool! Thanx, there are lots of bricks that need painting! Well, I'm working on a very condensed version of Phantom of the Opera. I've been obsessed since I saw the movie and figured I'd make my own. Thanx again! *dances to Phantom soundtrack*

BTW: The easiest way I know of to scale set drawings is to us an overhead projector. Draw your design on paper, photocopy to overhead transparency, and then project it on the backdrop and pencil it all in. You get a nearly perfect copy, and you can paint over the lines you make.

Hammer nails and not thumbs. I know it sounds simple, but I have problems with that.

Also, a relatively small ammount of "3D" can make a set come alive. Moulding at the half way point on a set can make a room look totally real.
