I know this is funny for a guy to say...

For all the music-lovers out there, this is your place to swap lyrics, talk about new bands and jazz about concerts. All things related to the audio world belong here.

I know this is funny for a guy to say...

...but I enjoy listening boybands. Don't get me wrong, I think most of guys that sing them are cardboard cutouts of the music industry and have egos the size of Texas. But the actual music that they sing are soulful and kind of soothing to listen to. There is something about their beat that reminds me of somewhat J-Pop and progressive jazz. It's like having a girlfriend over and talking to her while the music plays (sappy ain't it?).

So my question is: Is it weird for a guy to still listen to N'sync or Backstreet Boys, while not being some crazy fanboy?

LOL, its kind of funny but there's nothing wrong with you liking that kind of music. Just because boy bands have a rep for being 'teen girl music' doesn't mean that's the only people who can listen to and enjoy it. Hawk Nelson is a punk rock band that has that rep and I know LOTS of guys that like them.

Y'know, I find that hysterical, because one of my friends (who is a guy) used to love the Backstreet Boys. He still kind of likes them, actually! I find this so funny because he's into the kinds of bands you would find on the opposite side of the spectrum from boy bands (for example, Coheed is one of his favorites)!! XD Well, I found it funny, at least...XD

It's ok. I can think of at least 1 other guy who likes them. Don't sweat it.

Well, a lot of chldren like pizza, candy, soda and other junk food does that mean it's childish for an adult to eat it too? No, so same goes for music as long as it isn't influencing you to sin or anything like that then listen to it if you like it. Play your copy of the Hello Kitty OST like it's going out of style. :p (That is if you actually like the Hello Kitty OST)

If you like the style of music, who cares if it's looked down on (unless, you know, it's sinful.)

The new Backstreet boy song rocks. I also like Linkin Park but that's it for boy bands. Is the Killers a boy band? Maybe . . . . .

I always liked the boy bands, they really have musical talent to sing (Well most of the members of a band). Would Savage Garden fit in the boy bands?

If you enjoy a style of music....to heck with what anyone else thinks. Coworkers were shocked when they looked at my cd book and between Static X and Korn they found Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, and Tatu. If you enjoy it, thats what matters.

Ya know, if guys didn't like Boyband songs, there would be no Boybands.

I wish I were in a boyband. All five of us would dress up like Charles Dickens. Don't ask.

I don't see nothing wrong with that. It is kinda funny, but I think it's cute to meet a guy who's not afraid of tha fallout after admitting to such a thing (smiles softly).

I don't think it's weird. It sounds a little unusual, especially for a guy to admit, but a lot of stuff about "who likes what" is stereotypes, in my opinion.

Like, not all guys have to like heavy metal.

And not only old people can like 50s and 60s music.

*points to self* At least I hope not.

People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share

^^ I think it's cool that you're willing to admit to liking something that might seem 'odd' to people.

And, you know, the truth is...? Even though I don't like them as much as I did when I was younger...I still...kinda like Plus One. *sweatdrop* So...*shrugs*

I also like listening to the children's music station on LaunchCast. The one that plays Disney songs and London Bridge.
