Sephy was an easy boss for me...Possibly because I spent many many hours breeding a Gold Chocobo so I could get the Knights of the Round materia...^_^ I beat him in about 10 minutes. As for Ultimacia, she was easy, too...Lionheart gunblade + Renzokuken +Utimacia using attacks that could only take away HP and not kill you = Easy win. Adel, though...Took me two weeks to beat her!!
Anyone notice how, in a lot of games these days, the hardest boss is the one that comes before the last boss, and the final boss is exceptionally easy? Just thought I'd mention...O.o

Sephy was easy and I didn't even have Knights of the Round.
I gave Vincent the big guns (Bahamut, Neo Bahamut, Bahamut ZERO, Ultima, and Pandora's Box) and a Ribbon to guard against Status FX, gave Tifa the healing stuff and a Ribbon, then gave Cloud Hades and his Ultimate Sword. I had Vincent use the summons and his magic attacks (NEVER used his Limit Breaks), had Tifa heal when necessary or use Limit Breaks, and had Cloud use Limit Breaks. ALOT.
Killed all the final bosses on my first try.

With Ultemecia, I did NOT have Lionheart (missed the design for it) and drew Eden from Tiamat, so I didn't have time to power it up enough. I junctioned stuff like Ultima, Meteor, and Holy to my characters (all Ultima on Squall went to attack) and gave Irvine Auto-Potion after making 99 Elixirs.
has Squall continuosly use Renzokuken, Irvine kept throwing Ultima (not junctioned), and Quistis heal or attack with magic. Never summoned a GF.
Won on my first try without any of my main three characters dying.

Necron was just plain annoying. I couldn't find any ribbons, though I don't think they actually worked the same way this time.

Make the final boss tough, but not annoyingly so. Otherwise you don't get the same "climactic" feel in the game.

Ultimecia wasn't really hard. It was just long.

But then, making 99 Megaelixers from the Bahamut card helped quite a bit so...

My immediate reaction was to agree, but I can't think of any games I have played where this was the case. Regardless, what I find odder is when there is a boss far more powerful than the final boss just running around elsewhere. Or, even stranger, FFX's monster arena. That monster owner is the most powerful person on the planet...

I think it is quite common for the final boss to be easier to beat then some of the other monsters. The main reason for this is that not all players seek out every monster and every secret in the game. They just play through the story.

In FFVII, Emerald Weapon was a lot tougher than Sephiroth. If Sephiroth was tougher than Emerald Weapon, those who just played through the story wouldn't have had a chance against him.

Of the actual final bosses, I would have to admit that Ultimecia was my toughest fight, but that was my fault. I didn't realize that my starting party was random and that I would cycle through all of the PC's in the fight. I only prepared Selphie, Rinoa, and Quistis for the fight. The rest - Squall included - weren't even equipped. My opening party was Squall, Zell, and Quistis. I lost my entire group before I got Rinoa and Selphie into the fight and I had to fight Ultimecia with just those two. It was a long, hard battle, but I won in the end. Omega Weapon was still harder.

Jecht though has to be the easiest boss. I just used all of my aeon's overdrives and a few of my character's as well and he was done for. Didn't even use all of my characters overdrives either just mainly Tidus, Auron, and Wakka.

While Jecht was easy, I don't think Kefka was any more difficult. With Jecht I just hit him with physical attacks until he died, with Kefka I did the same with Ultima. Neither got off more than one attack, both attacks were moderately damaging.

Could you call him the Final Aeon guys? Most people know he`s one of the last bosses , but we want to be safe. Even so, The Final Aeon wasn`t the last boss.
Yu Yevon was.
So there you go, The Final Aeon was a boss before the last boss. And I just summoned the Magus Sisters and they finished him off in seconds.

Isn't that arguably a bigger spoiler? You find out about Jecht fairly early, but it is only after Zanarkand that you find out about that. Regardless, I thank you for being conscious of that, but I think the spoilers are relatively minor.
I think that Yu Yevon doesn't count because he cannot actually kill you, hence is the easiest possible fight. If there is a sub-final boss, it would probably be Seymour (who was easier, for me, because he had only one form and less then 99,999 HP).
Or, in terms of annoyance, that guy with him that has the technique that blows characters from the battlefield. His stint in the Arena could have caused more annoyance than some major villains. It was also quite satisfying to beat him...
