They should have thrown in the Jan-ken-po combination from one of the Secret Theater vids.

Notice that poster. It says more then any sneak trailor ever said about MG2 or MG3. Lets review.
First man is Vamp...notice the marking on his head. Second is of course Meryl. Take note that the third person is holding a child...thats clearly Raiden. Then Ocelot, Snake. Otacon. Now here is where it gets downright weird. The skinny old man with the eyepatch and the woman. I won't even guess on the woman. My gut says somthing to do with a clone of Eva...but who knows. The old man has to have somthing to do with Big Boss. Maybe a clone of Big Boss? Perhaps a direct clone this time...who knows. But this game is gonna be soooo good.
I have to say that was the strangest, and probably most enteratining trailer I have ever seen. It was like a fanboy film on a high budget.

Not only that, but Kojima *IS* directing the game.

Hey, he said he wasn't going to do MGS3...

Haha, the Kojima team still has that great offbeat humor. It's good that they never take themselves too seriously.
Perhaps it's Naomi? Didn't Snake bust her from jail? They still need to tie up the lose ends with FoxDie.
No footage until e3 2006. O_O

V_V

>_O

O_O

Maybe a big showdown between Snake and Raiden. I know most of the fans would love that.

Some unfinished bussiness with Ocelot to take care of.

Otacon!

Maybe another battle with Big Boss?

I think I might as well go and sleep until this comes out. I'm going to go totally insane obsessing over every little info drop, picture, trailer, and clip until it is released.

Seeing as how much of a graphical wizard Kojima is, I can't even *imagine* the stuff he'll pull with this one.

And as I mentioned about the trailer...

Kojima is a genius with the trailers. Every one gets me so hyped over the next game... That familiar Harry Gregson-Williams theme... all of the dialogue quotes... Snake being cool... AGH!

Waiting just for a glimpse of it is a year away. And who knows when the game will come out?!

And the "nowhere to hide" theme.... 'Scuse me while I go rip my brains out.

I cant wait. This game is gonna be so awesome. I hope they go more in depth with some of the questions frome the other games. There are still several questions about the Patriots that I still want answered. What about Foxdie?

Yeah that trailer was awesome it's got me really excited.

Nah guys she was already released by Campbell at the end of Solid. Remember Campbell calls you before you get on the snowmobile and says that Secretary Jim Houseman was arrested. And then he gives the Codec to Naomi and you talk to her for a bit about FoxDie. She never really gave a clear cut answer as to why Snake didn't die from it but Liquid did. She was just like "live with the time you have left" oh well he obviously didn't die.

And I doubt Big Boss would come back. He's dead and he needs to stay dead. It wouldn't make much sense either since Solidus was pretty much Big Boss incarnate in MGS2. With the accelerated aging process he's supposed to look exactly like Big Boss did in his late fifties even though he's only 30 something. I gurantee you the main villain and the story will be something none of us will expect and it won't be as wierd and out there as Sons of Liberty was.

And we know who the first sic characters are. The last two, the man with the eyepatch and the woman in the hood, could be anybody. In fact with so many returning characters it's likely they're entirely new ones.

I am 100% sure in either The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2, or in the Shadow Moses book on MG2...they say she was arrested and that "someone" broke her out.

That would be total retarded fanboy feed. I never hated Raiden like most the annoying people did. His character was fine.

I agree 100%, now, yes I found him somewhat annoying in a few sections of the game, but I believe his purpose was to give Snake more depth, viewing him objectively rather than subjectively.

The best way I can describe it is like in a lot of anime; Raiden is the whiny main character, and Snake is the guy who can't seem to be killed, and shows up out of nowhere to save the day. ...But you get to *be* Snake, and to put it in the words of internet retards; lol taht roxxorz.

Snake : Roy, just tell me one thing.

Campbell : What?

Snake : About Fox Die.

Campbell : Meryl will be fine. She wasn't included in its programming.

Snake : What about me? It killed Liquid...

Campbell : Naomi said that she wants to talk to you face to face about that.

Snake : How is she?

Campbell : Don't worry. Mei Ling's with her right now. I'm switching over to
Naomi.

Naomi : Snake, it's me...

Snake : Naomi...

Naomi : I heard...about my brother...

Snake : I'm sorry... but he had one last message he wanted to say to you.
He told me to tell you to forget about him and to go on with your
own life.

Naomi : Frankie said that?

Snake : Yeah. He also said he'll always love you... Naomi, your brother
just saved you, me and the whole world. He fought with every ounce
of strength in his body.

Naomi : Maybe... maybe now he's finally found some peace. He wasn't really
my brother anymore... Ever since he fought with you in Zanzibar
he's been like a ghost. A ghost looking for a place to die...

Snake : Naomi, Liquid died from Fox Die too. What about me? When am I
gonna go?

Naomi : That's up to you.

Snake : What do you mean?

Naomi : Everybody dies when their time's up...

Snake : Yeah, so when's mine up?

Naomi : It's up to you how you use the time left to you. Live, Snake.
That's all I can say to you.

Snake : ..........

That's near the very end of the Solid. I got this script from http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/psx/file/metal_gear_solid_script.txt

I'm not happy they're making this game... I am a major fan of all 5 metal gear games, (the 2 MSX games, the PS1 game, the two PS2 games) but I'm a big fan of things coming to an end... I'm ok, say, with the 6 movies in Star Wars... If they made ANOTHER ONE to be put on the same level, I'd be upset... Purporting something to be the end means something should be the end... Kojima made MGS3 out to be the end... It leaves it open-ended, but that's ok... I don't think people need every last detail explained to them... (though that's funny considering I like FF6 and I don't like FF7)

Much of the details and explanations came in MGS3 despite it being a prequal, and others don't need to happen at all... Snake is on an endless chase... I think that's enough... We don't need every last detail... It's ok to have questions... Well, I suppose there aren't many fans like me... Fans want it to go on forever... And Konami is out to make money, that's the whole of it really... I will play it and maybe it may change my mind, but as of now I"m upset...

Not to be rude Yojimbo, but what was the point of that? Do you think I have never played Metal Gear Solid? I am well aware of what was said at the end of the game. But clearly your missing some things in games after the PS1 Metal Gear Solid. There have been a few games since ;) In Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons Of Liberty, on the game there is a book called "In the Darkness of Shadow Moses" If you take the time to read that...you will see what I am talking about. (She was freed from Prison by a very skilled merc. Wonder who?) So while your quoting things from Metal Gear Solid, the storyline has continued a bit.

I know you've obviously played the game. And yes I did read In the Darkness of Shadow Moses back when I first got the game in 02. And yeah you're right I just read that part now. It really doesn't change much anyway we assumed she was free the same as Campbell was at the end of Solid anyway.

The only thing I'm upset about is that it's coming out only for PS3, which I have no intention of buying (although I said the same thing about the PS2...)
As for the trailer, it's great. I love the "bishounen sparkles" on Raiden.

No, I haven't forgotten about the phil... I mean, the patriots... I felt MGS3 adequately explained the biggest part of that mystery, though who was still alive in the patriots was left open... I guess there is a BIT of room for more story, but I thought that all the details that really needed to be filled in were filled in by MGS3

MG2 has many questions that MG3 never touched. Vamp, Olgas Child, Ocelot/Liquid, etc. IMO MG2s ending was crap. They knew they would need a sequal, so I see no suprise at all that there making one.
