Hello!

Postby Rita » Sat May 14, 2005 3:13 am

Hi everyone! I'm here because Talame told me to join, and because I want to play Pingu slap! I'm 18 years old, and I live in Australia. I love reading, singing and Lord of the Rings. I do have to confess I don't really know anything about anime.

Welcome. We will not only have to convert you to anime but also to the correct
way of speaking and writing English(i.e.we will soon turn you and all non-Americans into Pseudo-Americans!).
But seriously some of the anime you should consider looking into are:
Inuyasha(everyone needs to watch it at least once)
Dual!Parallel Trouble Adventure
Case Closed
Gundam Seed(we need more Flay Fanatics!)
.hack//legend
.hack//sign
Cowboy Bebop(another must watch)
R.O.D.The Tv
Crest of The Stars
Banner of The Stars
and that's just for starters. Also check out Kiki's Delivery Service.

Welcome, Rita! I'm pretty new, too, but I haven't done an intro yet. If you like anime, check out Porco Rosso, too. What do you like to sing?

Hey wellcome. That's ok if you don't like anime. I seem to rarely find my self using this forum to talk about anime anyways. Unless something really exciting is happening or something. Have fun post lots.

*starts running for her life*

Why am I running? :P

Thanks for being so welcoming guys! I am willing and eager to learn more about anime, I just haven't really had the chance to see any. I love the cute anime drawings I've seen though. :D

No she is running because I am here! And i'm EVIL! Either that or she's running from all my Monty Python quotes:

SOLDIER #1:
Halt! Who goes there?
ARTHUR:
It is I, Arthur, son of Uther Pendragon, from the castle of Camelot. King of the Britons, defeater of the Saxons, Sovereign of all England!
SOLDIER #1:
Pull the other one!
ARTHUR:
I am,... and this is my trusty servant Patsy.
We have ridden the length and breadth of the land in search of knights who will join me in my court at Camelot. I must speak with your lord and master.
SOLDIER #1:
What? Ridden on a horse?
ARTHUR:
Yes!
SOLDIER #1:
You're using coconuts!
ARTHUR:
What?
SOLDIER #1:
You've got two empty halves of coconut and you're bangin' 'em together.
ARTHUR:
So? We have ridden since the snows of winter covered this land, through the kingdom of Mercia, through--
SOLDIER #1:
Where'd you get the coconuts?
ARTHUR:
We found them.
SOLDIER #1:
Found them? In Mercia? The coconut's tropical!
ARTHUR:
What do you mean?
SOLDIER #1:
Well, this is a temperate zone.
ARTHUR:
The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land?
SOLDIER #1:
Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
ARTHUR:
Not at all. They could be carried.
SOLDIER #1:
What? A swallow carrying a coconut?
ARTHUR:
It could grip it by the husk!
SOLDIER #1:
It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.
ARTHUR:
Well, it doesn't matter. Will you go and tell your master that Arthur from the Court of Camelot is here?
SOLDIER #1:
Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
ARTHUR:
Please!
SOLDIER #1:
Am I right?
ARTHUR:
I'm not interested!
SOLDIER #2:
It could be carried by an African swallow!
SOLDIER #1:
Oh, yeah, an African swallow maybe, but not a European swallow. That's my point.
SOLDIER #2:
Oh, yeah, I agree with that.
ARTHUR:
Will you ask your master if he wants to join my court at Camelot?!
SOLDIER #1:
But then of course a-- African swallows are non-migratory.
SOLDIER #2:
Oh, yeah.
SOLDIER #1:
So, they couldn't bring a coconut back anyway.
[clop clop clop]
SOLDIER #2:
Wait a minute! Supposing two swallows carried it together?
SOLDIER #1:
No, they'd have to have it on a line.
SOLDIER #2:
Well, simple! They'd just use a strand of creeper!
SOLDIER #1:
What, held under the dorsal guiding feathers?
SOLDIER #2:
Well, why not?

Monty Python!!! Hooray! *stops running*

Although I must confess I don't think I've actually seen a whole Monty Python sketch, just lots of little pieces. :P My brother loves them.

Welcome to CAA! I didn't know much about anime when I joined either. You'll fit right in.

Don't we all... :p This would be a good anime to show your friend, Talame. Have you shown it to her yet?

Oh yes, Hi and welcome, Rita! ^______^/ Glad to have another Aussie join us.

Like Anna Mae said, you should fit right in.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Thankyou for the warm welcome everyone! I'm really enjoying the forum, and the arcade as well. :P Hopefully I'll get the chance to watch some anime soon, I made Talame tell me about it on the weekend.

No, remember when we were on the computer and I was asking about the different shows, and which ones I would probably like the most? I think YOU might be losing your mind! :P
