Well, here's just a reminder that the next fast is coming up soon. In the southern hemisphere in the Australiasian area it's the 29th of April, and there's only 30 days in this month. I just thought I'd mention it.

God bless and I hope that everyone is doing well.

Hmmm... what shall I fast from this time? Since sleep is what I want most right now, maybe I should fast from it....

 Okay, that's probably a bad idea, especially with a bunch of papers, presentations, and exams coming up. Can I fast from school?

Seriously, though, I'll probably try fasting from sweets this time. What is everyone else fasting from? Be sure to update us on your fast after the 1st! :thumb: (And thanks for the reminder, CA!)

;) That's what I normally do Mave, except I fast the entire comp... cause alot of my time is either eaten away by CAA or by Solitaire and music
<.<

Nooo... I don't just sit and brainlessly play Solitaire for hours on end...

How was everyone's fast? Mine went off beautifully, and I got to spend alot more time with my family, esp my mum. In fact, I think my mum is my best friend  It's great! Anyway, we spent the first two hours yesterday just talking about things, esp God. Overall, the day was great.

That's so awesome, Talame!

I must confess that my fast didn't get off the ground. I managed to get the flu and although I should have persisted with it, didn't. :( . I'm going to try to do a make up one.

I fasted sweets also, but... I kind of messed up . My youth group ate lunch together and we were talking and having a good time when I remembered (halfway through my second chocolate chip pancake) that I was giving up sweets! :bang: I didn't mess up for the rest of the day though! :jump: Anyway... yeah.

I've done the same thing before, Anna Mae, when I was fasting TV. I went over to a friends place, and had watched about a 1/2 hour before I remembered I was fasting :P Try not to beat yourself up too much about it. The Devil loves to condemn and make you feel really really guilty, but God is always willing to forgive and give you another chance.

This doesn't mean we should keep on ruining our days of fasts, however. Perhaps next time we could all write little notes on our hands or something to remind us of what and why we are fasting.

Definitely a good idea.

Hmm... do you reckon that if I stick a post-it note to my forehead saying something like 'No sweets' or 'No TV' or something, people will remind me by reading it aloud? ;) . It could work.

I managed to keep away from CAA and most online activities yesterday although the temptation was strongest around 20 minutes before the fast ends at midnight. Luckily I kept distracting myself with something else offline.

Yeah don't feel too bad if things don't work out perfectly the way you planned it. If you ever feel unwell, it helps to chose to fast from something else. If you forget and accidentally indulged, just let it pass and continue the fast for the rest of the day. The most important thing (IMO) is 'Don't give up!' XD

During the downtime with images absent from signatures, I'm going to go ahead and move the Prayer Guardians logo to another address, so please remove any link to the old logo from your signature in the meantime, so that you won't get a broken image if/when signature images return.

I'll move the logo to the new account and update everyone later on. Sorry for the inconvenience, everyone!

*nods nods* Good job, Roger! <--- in reference to latest prayer list update

Sorry for my absence lately, btw. Instead of whining about personal things or make lame excuses, I will make an effort to get back on track with my prayer life. I'm glad we have this particular thread going for accountability.

ALRIGHTY EVERYONE! Its almost that time again, but this time I was wondering if we could do something a little bit different. I was sitting on the bus today, thinking about the numerous people here on CAA that need prayer, when a thought struck me. How bout if everyone that's doing the fast take 1 or two specific prayer requests and just focus on them for the day. By focus, I don't mean "lord please help so and so" then going about your everyday business, I mean doing everything possible to pray for them constantly.

For example (this is what I'm going to do) put up lots of post-it-notes around the house where you normally hang out the most (eg kitchen, comp room, even bathroom). This way, everywhere you go you will be reminded to pray for that request.

Also, I was thinking that maybe we could step up the fasting to 2 or more times a month (only for those that want to). Perhaps even fasting the beginning of each week. If you think about it, we are only fasting 12 times a year (not that that's bad... its HEAPS better than never! ;) )

Anyway, tell me what you think. Also, I'd like to thank Rogie_san SOOO MUCH for continuing to update the prayer thread. THANKS MATE! God bless you heaps!!!

I think that's a great idea, Talame! And more times each month may work out, too. So good ideas all around, Talame! I'll have to figure out a good way for me to have reminders around me all day at home and work.

Oh, and you're very welcome about the prayer list. That's just my duty, I guess. Well, on toward the 1st of June! :thumb:

Amen. Thank you so much for your work on the Prayer Requests thread, Rogie. I think that's a good idea about focussing on two prayer requests while we go as well, Talame.

I'd be happy to fast twice a month. How about doing it on a date that is easily remembered - like the second Monday of a month, or the 15th or something? I find it pretty easy to remember the start of the month and it would be cool if we could find some sort of memorable day to remember to fast. If we can't, that's fine, though. :)

Any objections to the 15th as a day of fasting, then? :)

I'll pray for Yukinon and Kirakira. If we don't have enough people fasting for each person on the list, I'm happy to pick up two more, too.

I'm fine with this idea. I have a dilemma though. My oral examination (defense) for my M.S degree is on 1st June. Honestly, I'm not sure whether I should fast or not. As it is, I'm pretty stressed out and anxious about it.

While I figure that out, may I request that everyone pls pray for my defense? I need all the help I can get. I will pray for some requests on that day anyway.

Also, I apologize for my absence/inactivity in the prayer followup effort. I'm sincerely sorry that I haven't been faithful with it. I hope to pick it up by the end of June. But until then, I will do my best to pray along with everyone.
