Hello, kodachrome here...

Postby kodachrome64 » Thu Apr 14, 2005 5:11 pm

Hello all!

Just finished registering here at CAA and I just have to say it's great to be here. There aren't very many communities with the words "Christian" and "Anime" in the same heading, so I found the right forum for me! :)

Can't wait to talk about anime with you guys and I look forward to our future discussions.

Hiya! Anyways, the anime I enjoy are as follows:

Stellvia
Azumanga Daioh
Noir
Chobits
Cardcaptor Sakura
Last Exile
Voices of a Distant Star
Paranoia Agent
Sakura Taisen

...and a lot more.

Mostly I'm into stuff that are "fun" and sometimes things that are "deep" to watch. The first two is definately in the "fun" catagory while Voices and Paranoia Agent are among the "deep" catagory.

And I used to be really heavy on subtitles, but I am finding that anime dubs are getting better and better as they go along. So I guess you can say I like watching it dubbed more. :thumb:

Yep, tis' why I picked it as my screen name. ^^

[kodachrome]=Kodak's long-running brand of ultra-fine slide film (favorite film that I shoot).
[64]ASA=Slowest film speed one can have, which means great detail at less grain.

So yeah, I do still use film in the midst of everyone going into digital, but it still shows great results! :D

I'm about to go into digital if things work out as I hope to camera that I want. I'm starting to get a bit tried of having to order slide film from New York, because you can't find the good stuff like Kodachrome 64 or Fujichrome Provia 100 around here.

That's too bad. Where I live, there is a Wolfs or Reeds camera store across town and they usually carry a lot of good film (like Fuji's excellent Velvia). I sometimes can find Kodachrome in drugstores, though they do mark film prices up in there.

Going into digital can be costly. Decent Digital SLRs are around the $1000-2000 price range and that's for the body only (no lenses included). With a little bit of money saved up, hopefully I can get a starter kit and go from there.

The threads that ya started in the general section have been very interesting and insightful. They definitely got me to thinking :)
