Down for repairs. :bang: My metaphor is waning.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Did you delete something? I thought there was more here earlier... then I had to go to class, and I come back, and it's gone... *sigh* I guess I'm just too slow on the draw... :)

Quick note: I'm going to the state fair with friends. Yee haw!

Yes, I deleted the dialogue because it was bad... very bad. :shake: The voices were all wrong. So, I'll probably post the scene later today or tonight when I get back, if I get a chance to fix it.

Thanks.

I love this story! I can't wait to read more. ^_^ It's so heartwarming. I just want to pick up Gainey Beth and give her a big fat hug. Thank you for continuing the story.

I had lots of fun at the fair; :jump: unfortunately, the dancing bananas had been dipped in hot chocolate. I don't think any lived to dance again. :sniffle:

Thanks Iesu. :)

All right, here's the rest of Chapter Six: Secrets Please be honest with me and tell me where it doesn't jell. Thanks. :)

Chapter Seven: Graveyards will be here in a day or two. Sorry for the delay. It's down for repairs.

Okay, here's Chap. Seven, but the Spanish section will be added later. It's just one paragraph, so it should be fine. I'll mark it like this <>

Chapter Seven: Graveyards

Aunt Estelle held out her bouquet as we walked over to a headstone which stood four feet high. On it were the words: Josefina Lupe Mathers, beloved wife and mother. 1942 – 1999.
“Pick out the flowers you want to give your grandma.â€

:jump: I'm glad you rewrote this part. I had read the conversation between Luke and Estelle that you wrote earlier, and this one is much clearer. But there's still just enough intrigue and suspense... We'll get to find out what really happened to Cilly... and what happened between Luke and Estelle... Good story! :jump:

Thanks. :) This thing is growing to incredible proportions and I wonder if I should stop placing it on this thread and work on it offline? What do you think guys? It might not be a novella, but a novel with the edits I give it when I'm finished.

I just wanted to let you know that I love the way this story is going. I'm sorry I am not very good at critiquing or giving advice, so all I can do is give my thumbs up! As for working on it offline...do you mean that you wouldn't be posting anymore of it? I hope I've misunderstood because I really like it.

Yes, that's what I meant. But, it'll be below par if I post and very rough. I hope you don't mind. I'm a perfectionist and realize I need to do some more research for this to ring as something well-written. I'll post if you want to know how the story ends up, though. I know I'd feel bad if you stopped showing us your story, Iesu. Thanks.

I can certainly understand you wanting it to be perfect ^_~ But I would still like to see how it turns out. IMO you are an excellent writer. I, on the other hand, am merely fumbling along--infinitely surprised that ppl seem to actually enjoy the monster I've created *heh*

Aaaaah! So... conflicted! Selfishly, I want you to continue posting here. If you don't, it's like taking away the book I'm reading. :stressed: But as a fellow perfectionist... I understand your need for research and refinement. *sigh* Do what you need to... but I hope you give us regular updates!

Or... you could write it here as a rough draft (copying and pasting to your own hard drive, of course, in case the unthinkable happens and CAA loses all data), and then refine it later! :thumb:

hehe I'm selfish... Seriously, do what you need to do.

Thanks. :) IMO, yeah. I should have guessed. I don't understand all the online lingo - old fashioned.

I'll keep posting the rough. I always keep my stuff updated on a seperate disk. I don't know if you've heard my story. But I've lost all my writing twice in my life. In the late 80's I lost all the music I wrote for the last ten years when I moved to Texas. And then, in the late 90's I lost two novels and short stories because I cleaned out my office and bought a new computer and I think I threw away the disks which had my originals. I lose a lot of stuff. :stressed: LOL

I finally read about how Iesu's head is stuck on her body. :shady: My head's on my body, but it has a mind of it's own sometimes. :rolls_eye Kind of like Osaka on Azu Manga Daioh.

Although I can't afford to forgive even myself,
Because you were there,
I was able to be myself (Natural).
I want to be honest...I want to be kind...
I want to be the adult I once (in my childhood) longed to be.
I go on fighting against the heart to run away...
I go on fighting against that invisible something!"

Okay I just had to add this to what Iesu just wrote.

Is that considered spam?

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Hehe I think you're allowed to spam on your own thread...

You're my favorite wolf- and artist. :)

Aww... thanks! :red: :)

Oh and I have seen some of Eirewolf's art *not much tho* and I think she is incredibly talented as well. How she can do it with paws is really beyond me

Thanks! Hehe Lots of practice... and specially designed paw-pencils... Iesu, I don't know if you've seen my Elfwood site but it's here: http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/loth/e/i/eirewolf/eirewolf.html

I finally read about how Iesu's head is stuck on her body. :shady: My head's on my body, but it has a mind of it's own sometimes.

This made me laugh.

Another section. I told you it'd be rough. I'm feeling brain dead these days.

Chapter Eight: A Woman of Character

Tupelo was history: Great battles took place on Mississippi soil during the civil war. The dead remembered, or forgotten, at places like the Tupelo National Battlefield, where the last great battle of Mississippi was fought and the Brices Crossroads National Battlefield Site, all fought for the confederacy. They even had a place called the Confederate Gravesites. I guessed lots of fighting went on in Tupelo. I knew about fighting, and felt a bond with Tupelo’s history.
Lots of pamphlets sat on the table in my aunt’s hotel room. I picked through the stack of pamphlets from the table in my aunt’s hotel room one at a time. It was the only thing to read in my aunt’s room and I wanted to pass the time while she was in the bathroom finishing up.
They had lots of information on The Natchez Trace Trail and how the Natchez were Indians, just like the Chickasaw, who had also lived here. I had never known that.
I placed the pamphlets back down on the table and then worked my way over, holding furniture, to the side of the bed and started opening drawers. There was a Bible and then a bunch more pamphlets.
Elvis Presley. In my aunt’s drawer the pamphlets were all about Elvis Presley, the one my aunt had mentioned yesterday. I think my aunt really liked him. He was the Tupelo icon ‘cause he was born here and then moved to Tennessee at age 13. My aunt’s mention of him yesterday was the first time I had heard of Elvis, as he was known by the folks of Tupelo. He was so famous, according to these pamphlets, he only needed one name.
I never realized I lived in such an historical place; although, I knew there were great writers from Mississippi in general, like Eudora Welty and William Faulkner, I never really thought over the history of where I lived.

My Aunt Estelle walked out of the bathroom; her hair, having just been blow dried, gently coiffed around her cheeks and forehead. She had on white Capri pants and an orange blouse with a flower print scarf and a short little midriff white jacket. I wanted to look so beautiful when I grew up.
“You ready to go?â€
