I come from the Land Down Under...

Postby Rysing_Furi » Fri Mar 04, 2005 6:38 pm

G'day everyeone!
Well im new here, and i've gotta say, this place is awesome! Whoever runs this place does an awesome job (alright enough sucking up ;)). Anyway, im from australia, and down here we don't get much anime (despite being close to asia etc) so you're flying blind a lot of the time. We do get plate sized spiders however, and about 7 of the most dangerous snakes in the world so that's always a plus . We do get anime on pay tv (adult swim) but that doesn't help much (costs a mint to have). So im relatively new to anime etc. The only anime ive actually seen is Bubblegum Crisis 2040, which is what started me on it. Well...I have seen dragonball z, or "steroid brawl z" but that's pretty pathetic in my opinion  .But im wanting to see more. Im not really into manga (I haven't read any mind you!), but anime is great. Im into sports, not overly so, but I enjoy it sometimes. I play volleyball every week and im pretty great at that (as ive been told ;)), but I also like cricket/baseball, football, plus the odd extreme sport like rock climbing and abseiling, thats always good. Im not crazy enough to jump out of a plane, but for a million bucks I would =). Im also into video games, good ol blow the snot out of aliens kinda games (fps) like Deus Ex, Elite Force, RTCW, but also strategy games like starcraft etc. I just graduated from (home) school a couple of weeks ago, so i'm currently enjoying my freedom at the moment! So....I guess thats about it! That's me in a nut shell, I probably could add a few more things but I can't think of any right now lol. Sorry! ;)

:jump: Awesome stuff! A pleasure to meet a fellow aussie, Talame! Yeah Deus Ex is SOOOOO COOOL!! I loved that game!!! Its also cool because it was the first game I played and completed without cheating monstrously LOLOLOL. So im very proud of that fact . Ive probably played it through about a 100 times as well, I usually always try to do it a bit different though. In one i'll use tranquilizers, another i'll just slaughter everyone with the dragon's tooth and gepgun LOLOLOL. But anyway! Too bad the sequel wasn't as good, but oh well!

Hmm...library huh? Never though of that, they might actually be of some use for a change! :thumb: I'll have to check that out! Thanks!!

What area? I live in NSW, west of sydney near the blue mountains, what about you? Im taking a wild and blind guess but....maybe brisbane?

Oh yes, and 18 is a very great age! Don't we just rock?

Can you actually cheat in Deus Ex? I didnt know that... there were times that I really wanted to, but thankfully I got pass those stages. Which one is your favourite ending? I like the one where you fuse with the AI. I WILL RULE THE WORLD!! BWAHAHAHA

I've played the sequel too. Granted, it wasn't *AS* good as the first, but I loved it how they had Morgan Everett and Nicolette DuClare in it :P And the aliens!! I was expecting them to be bad ]Hmm...library huh? Never though of that, they might actually be of some use for a change! I'll have to check that out! Thanks!! [/QUOTE]
Np ;) I went on an anime spree when I first discovered that they had them :P Watched GRave of the Fireflies (Grrr stupid movie), Full Metal Panic (GREAT show!!! ) and other misc ones. I also got out the How To Draw Manga books ;)

What area? I live in NSW, west of sydney near the blue mountains, what about you? Im taking a wild and blind guess but....maybe brisbane?

BWAHAHA! No way! I hate the hot!!! ACT all the way!!! ;)

Oh yes, and 18 is a very great age! Don't we just rock?

;) Absolutely :P When do you turn 19?

O, and just for the record, I go for the blues in State of Origin

Welcome brother! It's cool to see another Aussie on board (we could always use some more). You won't have any problem making friends here, so post lots!
I know what you mean when you say its hard to watch anime regularly here, since you either have to buy it all or have pay tv (SBS barley ever screens anime). Like Talame said sometimes libraries have anime, but I've found they're a good place to start.

God Bless!

CephasVII - "Have you met steve irwin?" No I haven't been met steve irwin, but ive been to his reptile park, its pretty awesome!

Warrior 4 Jesus - Yeah SBS suck! I must have sent about....100 letters saying "please put more on" but I reckon they have that hotline posting board for nothing, then they read it an laugh like the evil men they are "MWAHAHAHAHAH" lololol.

P.S. Thanks for all of the Chocky treats by the way ;), although im a little puzzled as to what a "snack cake" is. Is it a cookie mixed with a cake or something? I wouldn't have a clue!!!!!

Yeah I know what twinkies are too lol. I also know what milk duds are, but wether they're made out of milk is another question LOL. Root beer I have no idea, but I heard it was really sweet (not sweet as in "man thats sweet" but sugar sweet lolol). Is that true?
