Anyone seen Voices from a Distant Star?

Postby Kuroi Inu » Fri Oct 03, 2003 9:26 am

Has anyone seen voices from a distant star (hoshinokoe)? It's a anime movie created wholy by Makoto Shinkai on just his G4/400 Macintosh. I think it was recently released in the US on DVD. I saw the trailer and the graphics look awesome. It apears to be a Sci-fi/Mech/Romance but it's only 25 minutes long :o . It got a bunch of good reviews though. :)

Yep it's pretty good, though my only dissapointment is that it's too short. Though it does convey the theme of the story quite well in those 25 or so min.

Great buy, even for such a short film, but be sure to watch the Subed version as it's much better than the dubbed (I think this was covered in a review around here or something).

Go Buy It NOW!!...oh sorry. Umm...but yea it's really, really good!! It inpired me even more to continue to try to make anime and manga on my computer. Oh, and right now I'm working on a Anime Music Video with VOADS put to a Skillet song. anyway From what I've done it looks sweet! It made me cry even more than the movie! And for those of you wondering the song I'm using is track 11 of the Alien Youth Cd.
