Fushigi Yugi started it all!

Postby HondaTooru » Tue Sep 30, 2003 3:29 pm

Hi everyone!
I am so excited that I found this site! It's so hard to find christians (and by that I mean real ones, you know that actually practice it in their lifestyle and don't just say they are) on AIM or Yahoo. My real name is Autumn and I live in Chandler, AZ. Anime became an interest of mine about 3 years ago and Fushigi Yugi started it all! Since then, I started drawing anime, became and e-bay addict, and now 80% of the music I listen to is in japanese! I'm even learning japanese in college. Anyway, feel free to message me or e-mail me anytime! I look forward to being a frequent contributor to this site and hope I get to know all 400+ of you!

Welcome and enjoy your stay! Save for Christian music, everything else I listen to are either vid game or movie BGM, or J-music.

Hi Autumn, welcome to CAA! I like your avatar--Fruits Basket is a wonderful series and one of my favorites! I also like Fushigi Yugi--it really tugs at your heartstrings at times, doesn't it? ;)

Nice to meet ya. So whats your major? anyhow, i plan to take Japanese as my foreign language as soon as i transfer to a larger university. tell me how easy/hard is it too pick up?
As for music about all the cd's i have bought since i got into anime are soundtracks (like FLCL is what i am listening to right now), video games (final fantasy) and Christian (newsboys, skillet.. so forth). but whats this about Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers? what a tempe bands. i loved Gin Blossoms growing up and were RC&tP's called the Refreshments??? i can't remember... but ah yes the sounds of Tempe, AZ. :thumb: (or around there...).
Anyhow whats are your thoughts on Fushigi Yugi? See ya around.

Yes, Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers did used to be the Refreshments (give or take a couple band members). My thoughts on Fushigi? The greatest love story ever told! But the last 4 OVA's were kinda dissapointing... The other 61 episodes are great! It just seemed like the last 4 (Eikou Den) were just to milk the series for a little more okane.
Saint, did you used to live in AZ?

Saint, did you used to live in AZ?

Me? Nah, I have always been an Alabama boy. :) One of my friends and I just got into the music. Mainly Gin Blossoms for me, I only have one of Roger Clynes cds. "Honky Tonk Union." Those bands have a unique sound, love 'em.
Truly, most of what I buy nowadays are anime soundtracks. (prolly 80%)
From what everyone's saying I had better check out Fushigi Yugi sometime. ;)

Welcome welcome to the CAA! *waves*

Fushigi Yuugi is one of my guilty pleasures in anime (not really guilty... it is pretty good). Oooh, and I've only seen the first 26 episodes... *covers ears* Don't ruin it for me! *laughs* Kidding, kidding, talk as much as ye wish!

HI^_^....Fushigi Yuugi is pretty much my first anime..at least in Japanese. I think it's the one of the best I've seen. But I haven't seen as many as some so mine is not a very educated opinion. *Tasuki...sigh*

Japanese

Postby HondaTooru » Sun Oct 05, 2003 3:31 pm

Oh, in answer to your other question Saint, I think it will be very easy for you to pick up! It all depends on your ambition to learn! And my sensee tells me that anime actually helps a lot; she encourages it! I just took a test that involved me calling sensee and having a conversation with her in japanese for 10 minutes. She told me my pronunciation was perfect! All thanks to anime! I'm enjoying the class a lot!
