Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. So many people have been recommending this to me, that I decided to at least give it a try. We'll see if it holds my interest. This series isn't liscenced, is it?

Well, I will admit it has me hooked. I've read through the sixth volume, and am currently pursuing the seventh.

I bought Fruits basket v1. I am trying to get around to reading it. Work suddenly decided to go to 99 cent rentals and I have several waiting in the wings...

Wallflower 2
Also imported Municipal Force Daitenzin from Japan because it was the forerunner of Excel Saga, but I'll have to throw it out-- because it turned out to be a hardcore hentai title :o

*jitters* Just got back from the Japanese bookstore, and I'm working on reading Matantei Loki Ragnarok 5 and Tactics 3 and 4 (=.=; they didn't have 2....so I may hold off on those until later)

I'm sad to report that number 5 is the last volume of the Loki series. :sniffle: So far I like how they resolved the Heimdall vs. Loki plot, but it looks like the rest of the ending is going to be a bit hurried. Me sad. Me will miss my beloved MaLoki. *sniffs*

Reading the following:
Naruto - Didn't manage to grab Volume 5 before the store was empty :(
One Piece - My favorite, just love how stubborn Luffy is :D
Love Hina - My favorite #2, looking forward to get book 3 (have been reading it in a magizine in my language, but couldn't wait for it, it didn't even come each month :p, and if I read the english, I don't have to wait for the books to get released :D)
Ranma 1/2 - This is also good, not that close after the others

Plus a little of Hikaru no Go and Chobits...Hikaru no Go, is that good? Have just read a little pretty long into the series...Like chapters around 25

Unfortunately at three volumes the story is unfinished but it has some of the best artwork I have ever seen!

I am reading chrono crusade and Rurouni Kenshin which both are really good and i am just starting full metal panic and dnangel.
Even though I walk through the shadow of death, I fear no evil; for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou dost prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou hast anointed my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely godness and lovingkindness will overflow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23:4-6

Just read Karie's First Love, Vol. 2 - cutest bishie ever drawn in this
Immortal Rain, Vol. 4 - this is so good
Imadoki, Vol. 4

I'm about to read Wild Act, Vol. 10 and Girl Got Game, Vol. 7, and then I'm done with manga reading for awhile.

YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Just want to say something on Kare First Love.
I had started reading the scanlations of it a long time ago, but I stopped during the second volume because of content.
For those who haven't read the volume 2 yet, Karin is pressured to have sex with Kiriya and came close to doing so but she doesn't. However, in the 5th book they do have sex (I learned this from a summary-to read summaries on the volumes you can go here or here .
I don't like to read manga with this type of stuff in it and I know there are others who probably don't like it either. I don't like it when I'm really enjoying something that seems really cool but then it turns out that it has bad content ( I miss Akuma de Sourou! :( ). Anyway, I'm just trying to be helpful.

Yeah, I read the first volume of Kane First Love and stopped, because-- well, I pretty much saw this coming. Plus, I'm just bugged by panty shots in manga (I got ten pages in and there it was :eyebrow: )! Ahh! Why!? Why must it [almost] always happen!?
