As the resident Tanemura-sensei fan, I'm very happy to see this thread. :jump: She's my favorite artist hands down.

Although you did forget one of her projects, Firecracker is Melancholy, a short-story anthology (I think there were 5 one-shots in it).

I have all of her works (excluding her most recent one, Shinshei Doumei Cross) saved, but let me tell you it wasn't easy. Most of them were acquired through mIRC...which I wouldn't really recommend to anyone; from what I've heard/experienced it's very unstable and vulnurable.

As for links, I would ask that everyone please us the PM system rather than post them--since scanlations have legality issues surrounding them, we'd rather you keep your scanlation/fansub links private.

As for my favorite series, goodness that's a hard one. Probably Full Moon wo Sagashite I enjoyed most, because it was clean through and through; Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is a close second, only because of the twisted theology involved. :stressed: You really can't go wrong with ANY of her works (except for maybe SDC, I don't know a lot about it yet)

They are licensing some of her stuff. CMX, I believe, is licensing Jeanne.

I guess this is cheating, because I've only read one of her titles, but I really loved Full Moon Wo Sagashite. I was a little disappointed by the ending (probably because I was comparing it to the ending in the anime-- which rocked!), but, overall, it was incredible. The characters were so fleshed out, and the story was engrossing. Great manga (which would make one wonder why NO ONE WILL LICENSE IT!!! aHH!)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Firecracker is Melancholy? OOOooo I thought I had found all the titles..... what's this one about????

*opens file* Note that each chapter is a short story
Chapter 1 & 2: Firecracker is Melancholy
- Kajika is a no-nonsense girl. In fact, she's a ninja (that likes to bounce and save children, but a ninja nonetheless)! And she's the keeper of the treasured weapon "red leaf", which lots of other ninja clans fight to get. Her friend Yuuga secretly has a crush on her, manages to get himself in a duel with another boy who likes Kajika. Yuuga is trained by Kajika and her grandfather for this duel, and fights for her hand! It's a really sweet story that's not nearly as corny as I make it sound (hello, it's Tanemura sensei! Her stories are always good). I liked it a whole lot ^^

Chapter 3: This Love Affair Is For Real
Karin, a rich and somewhat naive student's best friend Yuri needs her help. Yuri has a pen pal, Ryou, has agreed to meet with her in person, but there's just one problem: Yuri was too embarrased to send her own picture so she sent Karin's! Karin and Ryou end up going to the aquarium, and suddenly Karin finds she's in real trouble...because now she's started to like Ryou! The ending is the absolute best on this, and it was my favorite of the short stories here.

Chapter 4: The Romance in the Afternoon Rain
Minori has a huge crush on a fellow schoolmate, Takatoo. In fact, she convieniently forgets her umbrella every time it rains so she can ask him to share one with her. But Takatoo has a dark secret from his past that prevents him from showing any affection. Minori is dead-set on making him believe in love again, so she sets out to unearth this secret. Along the way, she discovers an awful mistake she made in the past and now is determined to set things straight!

Chapter 5: The Second Time In Love
This one is really confusing actually. O.o It involves two female friends (Yume and Mana) and 2 guys. Mana has a crush on Yume's boyfriend, but there's another guy who has a crush on Mana. It also had to do with exchanging food as a sign of confession, and it's basically about Mana sorting out her feelings for the two guys. This was my least favorite...although, its been quite a while and I'm just rapidly skimming the pages to get a refresher glance. I'm sure it's a lot better than my summary.

I hope that helped guys!

Yeah, it's a compliation of her early works. It's neat to read if you've been a fan for a while, because you can see how some of her early character traits/designs showed up again (she even said so herself at the end of the book!)
