FF Origins Anyone?

Postby Towi Wakka » Mon Sep 22, 2003 8:48 am

This is a shout out to all old and new RPG players! Play FFOrigins! It consists of FF1 & FF2 with a ton of extras. I was so excited when this was released because FF1 for NES was the first RPG I played. It is much better. The only problem is that it lacks moogles... :shady:

I'll probably get it eventually as I am a Final Fantasy fan but it's not high on my list of games to get at the moment.

Hai hai! Final Fantasy:Origins is a great way to reminisce during gaming's early days. I am glad they revamped the graphics to look like it was intended for the SNES. However, I'm a tad grumpy. Square - yet again - changed the names of items and skills. :shady: Why must they change that too, hmm?

(Though the worst travesty is Square rewriting the scripts for FF2/4j and FF3/6j *sob*.)

Although I found it interesting that some fellow I've never heard of arranged Nobuo Uematsu's original NES music, I wasn't at all disappointed with the results (probably because Uematsu supervised it); the FF2 world map music arrangement is just beautiful.

I also like how the damage to multiple foes/allies is displayed over the original NES versions; in the NES versions, damage done to each foe/ally is shown only one at a time (very time consuming) but in the PS versions they're all shown at the same time like in FF3(j)+.

All in all, I think Square did a good job with the remakes; except I kind of miss the menu music from FF1 (NES).

Hey I jsut bought that game(s). I am still playing FFX, as I am a rather late convert to the series. They are simply brilliant.

True, but it is possible to find the original NES Final Fantasy floating around on the net and I imagine there are fan translated copies of FF 2 and 3 somewhere out there.
