Starcraft is the best RTS in the history of the computer. Period. No RTS can beat starcraft.

As for my fav. race...that would have to be the terren or protoss. I love the terren Goliath and the protoss templars rule. I like the dragon too.

There is no "strongest" team. The one of the things that makes this game great is the balance. The Zerg rely on numbers and quick production. The protoss rely on technology and unit durability. The terren are like a balance between the protoss and zerg, a mix of numbers and technology. You can win with any race provided you are willing to learn how to use each races advantages to help you win.

Starcraft Ghost if I understand corectly is supposed to be a first person shooter. I can't wait for it to come out :thumb:

Toss...just dont let me go for 20 minutes. I'll have an impregnable base full of cannons lol.

I'm best with Toss. Reasons?

1) Best defense

2) Strong start-off units (lots)

3) Decent air units

4) My favorite: I can have control of 600 population (all 3 races under my command :D:D) Now thats a huge army :D

Best...well if you count my lsat reason Toss is the strongest (if you can pull it off)

SC: Ghost, It's a FPS for sure. I don't know much about the story...but your character is a female Ghost that has all abilities a reg ghost does, Cloak, and Lockdown (nuking I dont know)

SC is definately my fav RTS and one of my fav games overall. I've got the Battle Chest which contains SC, Brood Wars expansion, and tip books. I've beat all the single player missions. I haven't seen much multiplayer action since I've got dialup and it tends to be a bit laggy. It would be good to try some more multi again sometime though. I love the factor that every little decision has effects that can really alter the course of the mission, more than many other games. This is especially true with multiplayer due to the human factor. The creators of SC did a superb job of giving unique abilities to each race while keeping a fair balance. The single player missions are well built too with nice work on story developement and voice acting.

I'd say I'm most comfortable with Terran but I think Protoss are actually the coolest. ß-) I like their regenerative shields and that all the units are pretty tough. Some of their moves are extra nifty too, like the Arbiter's Recall or the Dark Archon's Mind Control (oh ya, gotta luv max 600 population!) Some of my fav units are Ghosts, Carriers, and Guardians. One of the best defense combinations has gotta be the Terran Tank-Bunker-Turrent combo. One of my fav offenses, howbeit pricy, is a 12-pac of Carriers with an Arbitar behind and an Observer in the midst of the Carriers. It is best suited for maps broken up with different ground levels or water.

There is some dope on Ghost at GameSpot - my primary gaming resource. Check out http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/action/starcraftghost/ I'm not sure about a PC version... I've downloaded a trailer of some sample action and it looks interesting though the character could use a little more clothes. It would be fun playing an FPS as a Ghost. And the SC universe has been developed quite a bit from SC and BR and would create a nice environment for some good story telling.

Ghost is not FPS. It's TPS. Not first person, third person and tactical.

I usually just go random race, because I'm indecisive.

I'm protoss all the way. see saviour sora's post. I do everything he does ^^ But sometimes I get real dirty and right at the start of the game. I build a pylon and a forgery as fast as I can. Then I take a probe into a enemy base as early into the game as I can and start building photon canon's. This stops there unit production and mineral and gas production ^_^ Or I just buil a gateway real fast and start build zealots and send them in to attack as I make em ^^ My friends hate it when I do that cause they don't have a chance to build stuff. but hey, what ever works...

I'm not much into the cheap stuff. I never rush...I do the real full-out war type style. Build and attack (HEAVY, espcially if I'm able to get all 3 races...imagine 12 carriers w/ 12 scout support w/ dark temps, 24 Battle chruisers, and a horde of hydras over runnng your base...hehe thats me :D.

It's more fun that way, rushings for easy wins and n00bs :p

I aint a n00b, thas for sure ^^ I only rush when I'm reallly bored or want to wipe somebody out that I really dislike quickly. I forgot to post my fav guys.

dark templars, because they're really strong, they're cloked, and having 52 of those guys and sending em in at one will anhiallate anthing on the ground extremly fast,

Dark Archons, same reason as saviour sora, take over a terran scv, start building a terran base AND a protoss base. then when you have enough resources and when both the terran and protoss stuff are huge, you take oover a zerg drone and start with a zerg base^_^ the only thing I don't like about this is it's extremmly hard to do because either A: you run out of resources making building come to a halt and B: everything needs their own supplies but uses the gas and minerals together

last but not least, carriers. 5 minutes with 20 of those with upgrades and 8 interceptors each... lets see 20 x 8... that's 80 dudes attacking at once, with upgrades and the interceptors if they die are incredibly cheap! and if your carriers run low on health, you take em to a shield generator or 2 and fill em back up. Then you go back and destroy

A full out battle in the long run is more fun than being cheap I agree, but sometimes, it's the only way to stop some braggin losers from #$%%$@! calling you down all the time. time to teach some no good lousy rotten mu..... :mutter: ... lol

my team is protoss
dark templar is sooooo cool

i agree with one of the first statments that its the best stratergy games invented. - by far.

all the teams are even but not zerg right at the start. my korean mate makes some zergling faster than u think, right at the start and send into base and terran cant stop it only protoss if ur ready for that attack.

but that goes under the catagory of quick kill or "cheap shot" though it's effective, i should know cause I use it sometimes with protoss ^^;;; , A drawn out battle giving everboy the chance to build a worthy army is SOOOOOO much funner! it lags the game though sometimes.... lol

Rushes are kinda fun if everybody in the game is cool with it. Hey, it happens in real war! It forces you to play a bit differently and make all the time and resources you have count right away. I remember playing the SC demo on the map Byways - Terran vs. Terran. Some of my strategies included tackling the other guy early on with Vultures. When equipped with a speed upgrade you can send in a pack to wipe out the opponent's SCV. Nasty but effective. ß-) Or lay mines all over the exit pathes from his base. Another fun thing was to build a Factory and Bunkers just outside his base early on. That way Tanks could constantly be appearing on his doorstep to pay a visit. Ah, I really should play multi again soon...

my fav race is terran

and i think that blizzard is making a huge mistake bringing ghost to consoles ONLY
their entire fanbase is on the pc, so why not make it for both?

I'm glad its coming out on console. That way I don't have to deal with Windows and patches. And I also don't have to wonder if my 128mb card will actually act like a 128mb card.

I like the Protoss cause of their aircraft carrier thingies (i haven't played it in awhile, so I can't remember the name of it :P). However, I always need someone to protect me from the Zerg at the beginning, caue otherwise I am overwhelmed.

I'm with Glitch on Blizzard's decision to leave out a PC version of Ghost. Starcraft rose to its popularity on PC so why leave those fans out in the cold and jump over to a different platform? It seems silly to me... I hope they *do* end up making a PC port at some time.

They're called Carriers :)

There hasn't been any news on Ghost for the past couple of months, the last being Blizzard's decision to switch developers. Of course, the other big question is: now that WoW is done, they really only have one project, that is Ghost. That translates to: when are they going to announce their next project. That also leads to: when are you going to announce Starcraft 2?

I almost always use Protoss, probably because I love Carriers. Nothing but well-placed nukes beat them... Or smart players who target the Carrier, not Intercepters. Probably what I back them up with Dragoons just incase.

Or perhaps Science Vessel with EMP to knock out the Carriers' shields and a pack of Wraiths targeting each Carrier in turn? Lockdown is always the bane of Carriers and Battlecruisers too, and a fav of the comp players.

grr I can't stand nukes. oh and I have a killer stratagy. if you have the patiance, the resources an dthe defences, you can make the ultimate attack. first you make your army, try to make it ground and air units, so have maybe four darch archons, some archons for powerhouse takedown, 20 darktemplars and a couple of high templars to lay down a brutal psionic storm. Also have a few carriors and observers. that way you can have a good arial attack and see invicible dudes such as ghosts and lurkers. then you build two arbitors and put all of the guys together. the reason you have two arbitors is because an arbitor will cloke all of the units in it's area except itself. so have to arbitors and everything willl be cloaked, including the arbitors. then you rush and the army will be demolished by an attack they quite literally can't see ^_^^_^^_^^_^^_^

Sadly, Arbiters can never be cloaked, even by other Arbiters. The SC unit specs state: "Since the Arbiter must be anchored firmly in space-time to safely generate such a large field, it is immune to the effects and remains visible, even when surrounded by the field of another Arbiter."

Oh, crumb... Surely those clever Protoss scientists should be able to come up with a work-around for this glitch. Until that day arrives keep your Arbiters safely behind the mighty Carriers and out of harms way.

I don't use my 3 Race base unless I'm playin on a Fast Map. The only time you can really support it. If it's a reg game I MAY get a SCV...I never get Zerg unless I'm on the fast map. The Seige tanks are so awesome...my fav unit in the game...specially when you got 6 or 7 of them attacking at once...BOOM!!!!

if ur protoss ry building heaps of dragoons
by them selves theyre pretty weak especially
against zerglings but 15 or more is nearly invincable
especeally because they r aginst the ground and air
chuck in a few arbaters and your on the way to victory!!!!

Well, they may be weak, but considering half the army will be dragoons there's a lot of dragoons to lockdown then. You'll decide whether to lock dragoons down or carriers, which is kinda obvious...

I tried zergling massacre before too. It was only good for destroying opponent's base before they could kill my zerglings off. And only one opponent at that; after that everyone just got flying units.

lol:lol: And about the arbitors, you can cloke them *if* you hack and program your own units. but, obviously, that's cheating XP I hate going against peoepl that make their guys have 9999 health and superman strength and make them only cost 1 mineral and 1 gas.... People like that should be :banned:

theres a problem, in order to sucessfully destroy carriers, you goptta have units atack the carriers, NOT the interceptors. So you gotta manually tell them to attack, not just go out and attack to where there are... or you can always use the nice lockdown with ghosts ^^

in my past experience, nobody even bothers lockdowning dragoons, its a waste of the ghost's energy

I know I don't, unless there's only one dragoon around, and an observer. Then again, I'm probably as likely to lockdown the observer instead. (them spying aliens, they're always after me nuclear lucky charms)
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.
