A 4th Crow Film in 2004

Postby Stephen » Sun Nov 16, 2003 4:34 pm

Big news for Crow fans out there...there will be a new Crow Film, called The Crow-Wicked Prayer to be released in 04' For now,

Characters/Actors: Jimmy Cuervo (Edward Furlong), Luc Crash (David Boreanaz), Lola Byrne (Tara Reid), El Nino (Dennis Hopper), Lily Ignites The Dawn, (Emmanuelle Chriqui), Harold (Danny Trejo), War (Marcus Chong), & Famine (Tito Ortiz also see his official site), Sheriff Tanner (David Ortiz), Pestilence (Yuji Okumoto), ), Proud Foot Joe (Daymond John), Mechanic's Wife (Rena Owen)& El Nino guard (Macy Gray),Cortez - posse member (Jorge Jimenez).

So there are some fairly big name actors in this...Dennis Hopper...Tara Reid....David Boreanaz some might know better as Angel from Buffy the vampire slayer...or his own show Angel. He will be playing the lead villan in the film. I am very...very thankful for the new film...there were plans for a 4th Crow film called lazarus...that starred (not a joke) DMX and Emenim. Yes, 2 rappers. The film would have told the tale of a murdered rap star...and yes...crow fans world wide would have torched the film makers buildings lol. No offense to rap fans...but it would have ruined the Crow films as a whole. I know the 3rd Crow Film, Salvation was a direct to dvd release...so they might not even put this 4th film in theaters...a shame...but I will get to see it anyway. Figured I would pass this along to any Crow fans out there. And for those that might not know...Brandon Lee owns DMX lol.

And no big shocker..the Crow is not your sterotypical comic book movie...Its not your Superman or Hulk...so not as many fans....fine by me...I just figured I would pass the news along to anyone that did care. Not like I think everyone are fool barbarians for not knowing about it..snicker. ;)

Actually it all started with a graphic novel....from there James O'Barr started on a comic as a way to make money to help pay for some classes he was taking. While I will agree the first sequal City Of Angels was total crap...I would check out the 3rd called Salvation if I were you. Wicked Prayer I wont know if its any good till I see it of course...though i do know that in a few years a 5th Crow film will be done with a female lead. One of the points of the Crow films is that there suposed to be different....the same premise...but they don't all go back and copy the comic...most of the new movies, Salvation, City of Angels, Wicked Prayer, have all been books long before they were turned into a movie. Give em a chance, you might be suprised.

A graphic novel is just a big hardcover comic in fact I read a couple of pages when I saw it in a store and I know how the sequals works just like you said but some most comic movies are should be told with only ONE movie as much as I love Daredevil and Hulk I dont want to see another. The story has been said I dont care how many villans there are just leave it as it is....awesome. On that note I dont even accept the 2nd and 3rd TMNT films because they lost sight of the characters even more than the first

Some movies I agree with...I think the blast of comic movies right now is annoying. However considering the Crow movies have been around since the early 90's I don't think its fair to lump them into the same group as Daredevil, Hulk, X-men, or Spiderman. The new film will be directed by the same guy that did the film Six string samurai. So there is a glimmer of hope that it will be better then the last 2 films. But then again if you are a "hardcore" fan of comic movies, don't watch any of the sequals...don't accept them, but personaly, if there good I plan on enjoying them.

Well, at last a picture of Eddy Furlong as the Crow has been released...from what I read, in the film the make up is more noticable...(as in the pic you will see its very faint) But...indeed it is shaping up rather good. Film is on Miramax so we can expect a theater release at this point...my guess is June 04'

Crow, the leading actor is Brandon Lee. An old movie. Or is it different movie?

Hopefully this one won't totally suck like the 2nd and 3rd ones did. They disgusted me, acctually the 2nd one was the first movie is my entire life that I fell asleep during, although I had to force myself.... I'm a bigger fan of the TV show than I am of the movie.... go figure.

*laughs* no, it doesn't. I've only seen the first one, but it's basically about the hero dying a tragic, wrongful death and being brought back to life to bring to justice those who were responsible. It's titled as such because a crow is always the one to bring the person back and guide them...it's their link between the living world and the world beyond. A bit violent, and a little on the vulgar side, it's still a good story IMO.
I'm sure Shatterheart will have a much better way of explaining it; he's a way bigger fan than I am.

Pretty sure Crow predates Yu Yu Haksihu (sorry for butchering that) Anywho...yes the second Crow film was horrible...but I did like the 3rd one. I think it was kinda...cheaply tossed out...had it been given a good theater release...directed better...it was like nobody making it cared...but the third one is suposed to be more decent...like the first. Even without even seeing a trailor I think its safe to assume that WP will be at least the second best movie....who knows.

No, Brandon Lee son of Bruce Lee was the first Crow. He was shot and killed towards the end of filming. They had only like a days worth of film shooting left so they used another guy. You never notice this in the film because pretty much all of the film was done at the time of the accident. The storyline of the crow films has a different guy each time so they would never need to use the same actor.

Major old thread bumpage. It has now been confirmed Crow 4 Wicked Prayer will be direct to dvd. Which, most people figured from the start. A variety of sites...are already trashing the film...which...they have no idea about. Bloody-Disgusting reported on it trashing it...having only seen early early pre-edit scenes. Many have the mentality...DTV sucks, no matter what. And really...thats not fair. Everything I have heard from people who were on set during the filming...is that this film is great. Eddy Furlong poured himself into the roll...litteraly upwards of 24 hours without sleep on different parts. So I will wait till I watch the film before I judge it. Its sad people spend all there time destroying things before they even come out. Anywho. Crow 4 should hit stores mid Feb 2005.

Interesting indeed. I liked the first Crow film immensely, much to my suprise from the cover art. I think people like to bash DTV because Disney's pretty much turned it into a laughable market. However, I'm kind of glad that it's going that way...I mean, it kinda keeps its cult movie status and doesn't have to cut, change or add a bunch of stuff just because "that's how hollywood does it". I think this could be a really good thing in the long run, and I'll have to look for it. Thanks for the update.

Loved the first movie, never saw the second, ditched the third (don't like Kirsten Dunst) never saw the tv movie, want the comic
There Will Never Be Another Brandon Lee... or bruce lee for that matter *sniff*
At the very least this movie will placate my cravings for hot guys with long black hair and freaky makeup who don't die. Yeah.
