Where were you?

Postby For_Him » Wed Dec 01, 2004 1:45 pm

Where were You when I've needed You?
Where did I have to go to find You?
What I was feeling, was like a slow death.
Who did I turn to? Not You.
I didn't know what else to do.
They told me You were the one to turn to.
Where were You when I've needed You?
You've been right here.

My name is For_Him, and I am a Christian.

Life can be so tough. Sometimes tears are the only remedy for me. I don't know about anyone else, but for me, talking with someone usually helps^^ So if there is someone who is having a hard time coping with life, please don't hesitate to tell someone~
Always remember, there is God who loves you and there is at least one other person as well~

Hey, nice poem, For_Him! I think it's very good.
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

Thank you. This poem describes what I've been feeling lately. Me being a young christian, I've had a lot of troubles, and I didn't turn God to help me through. I thought I could handle them myself. I was wrong. There's a lot of stuff that we have to give up while we're following God. I've kept holding on to some of those things. I've been stumbling a lot lately, which led me to writing this poem. I'm not much of a poet, and I just write down what I've been feeling. Hence the poem 'Where Were You?' was born. People are free to post on this thread if they like it. I might write a new one sometime in the near future.

Yeah, the same thing happened to me last year.
Most of my poetry was written when I was feeling down and lost. I didn't realize how encouraging they really were until I went back and read them.

That's what David did--he encouraged himself in the Lord.
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!
