Oh, coolness. Just a couple questions.

1)Why are you shouting everytime you say an anime title!? What did I ever do to you!? ;)

2)I've never heard of Twin Spica. What's it about?

3)Why did you have all those stalkers? *hides tape recorder so she can get black mailing material.*
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

People are reading my bio! Yay! Okay, now to answer questions...

I never found one myself - it was total luck. The guy does taxes for my folks and found I was cheap and handy with computery type stuff. Ever since then I've been doing just a little bit of everything and none of it well :) On the upside, I've learned four or five programming languages since I started and gotten a ton of hands-on experience. And everybody keeps throwing food at me (not literally!). It's wonderful.

That is Hayama Akito from Kodomo no Omocha aka That Manga/Anime That I'm Always Raving About. The picture is totally out of character but he's still a fun guy and Kodocha is a fun series.

Word up! I would love to lay the smackdown with the illustrious termyt.

Mangafanatic wrote:1)Why are you shouting everytime you say an anime title!? What did I ever do to you!?

1) It seems...proper. Even though it looks ridiculous. I've thought about stopping - even that new book on punctuation (Eats, Shoots and Leaves) says it's bonkers, but I've been doing it that way for so long that it feels wrong to just leave it. Feels naked, somehow.

2) Twin Spica (AHH! I'M DOING IT AGAIN!!!) is about a girl that dreams about going into space. An eccentric ghost acts as her mentor, but has plenty of issues of his own. It's totally awesome and just about every episode is a triple hankey ordeal - a real tear-jerker.

3) I'm still not sure what was up with the stalkers. I think it had something to do with the college. A lot of the girls were obsessed with finding a husband before they graduated, and well, I think a couple of them went insane. It got really weird toward the end - one of them even kept a stalking journal and then gave it to me so I could see exactly how she had been watching me all of those months. Kind of flattering in a "I should change my locks" kind of way. There were a few other unnerving episodes but for the most part I became good friends with all of them.

Yay for not stalking! Just to clear things up, though, I did not go to the University of Nebraska. It shall be maligned only for the obsessive fans of its football program and not for its obsessive women, on whom I have no authority to comment.

Nya ha ha...standard bio questions.

Hair and eye color?

How do you like your steak cooked?

When did you become saved? What denomination are you? Have you been baptized? If so, when?

Do you hate McDonald's as much as I do?

What's your favorite dessert?

What do you like on your pizza?

If you were on a desert island, and you had ample food, water, and shelter, what three other things would you want with you?

If God Himself decreed that you could only own ONE anime series, ONE video game, and THREE music CDs for the rest of your days, what ones of each would you pick?

Favorite band?

What does it mean to "rock" a vote? Can a vote be R&B'd? Singer-songwrited?

How many of the nine Supreme Court justices can you name? How many of the nine members of The Brady Bunch can you name? What does that say about you?

Thirteen colonies? That's bad luck. Who was the colony wizard who came up with that one?

Okay, now on to other stuff.

All 200 episodes? I'm one short. The "lost" episode which unfortunately ADV could not bring over to America with the SailormoonR boxset. The dinosaur episode. Do you know where I could find said episode for my viewing pleasure?

You play D&D. You get ten thousand cool points. What classes/races do you mostly play as, or do you have a preferred race/class?

Hooray for the resurrection of my bio thread! Okay, on with the questions.

from kaemmerite:

Hair and eye color?

Light brown and hazel. People keep calling me a blonde though. I wonder if they're trying to tell me something.

How do you like your steak cooked?

By someone else. Next question.

When did you become saved? What denomination are you? Have you been baptized? If so, when?

I was born into a Christian household and was fortunate enough to be baptized soon after I was born. As for when salvation really "clicked" for me, I can't remember a solid moment of epiphany. It was more a gradual accumulation of understanding. And knowing me, it takes awhile for understanding to accumulate.

My denomination is Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. I've looked into others but I've come to appreciate my denomination's commitment to biblical integrity.

Okay, enough seriousness.

Do you hate McDonald's as much as I do?

I didn't, until I thought about it. Now I harbor a seething malaise for its inferior food and significant contribution to American obesity. Thanks a lot, kae!

What's your favorite dessert?

That ice cream with the pieces of cookie in it. Yeah, that rocks.

What do you like on your pizza?

Everything! Peppers, mushrooms, pepperoni, sausage, fruit bats, breakfast cereals, orangutans...

If you were on a desert island, and you had ample food, water, and shelter, what three other things would you want with you?

Laptop computer, satellite internet connection, and generator. I've found I can put up with just about anything or anybody if I can go back to my online people at the end of the day.

If God Himself decreed that you could only own ONE anime series, ONE video game, and THREE music CDs for the rest of your days, what ones of each would you pick?

Anime: Tenshi ni Narumon! It has issues, to be sure, but I love the story and I love the style and whether I start from the beginning or pick a spot in the middle I could rewatch it 'til the end of time. Well, maybe not the end of time, but, awhile...

Video Game: Starcraft. People are still playing that online even though it's old as the hills. Maybe it's still got another decade or two of online in it.

Music CDs: I buy music about as often as I visit Saturn, so I am not qualified to make this decision, even on my own behalf. Off the top of my head, though, I will go with Sum 41's first CD, Five Iron Frenzy's last CD, and that crazy mix with the unicorns that that guy in that apartment plays every time I come over.

Favorite band?

Five Iron. May they rest in peace.

What does it mean to "rock" a vote? Can a vote be R&B'd? Singer-songwrited?

It means to vote, and to push the button really hard. R & B'ing the vote is possible but not recommended as it makes you look like a fruit. Singer-songwriting is illegal as only one person at a time is allowed to enter the voting booth.

How many of the nine Supreme Court justices can you name? How many of the nine members of The Brady Bunch can you name? What does that say about you?

Supreme Court Justices: 2.
Bradys: Is Paul a Brady? If so, then 3.

This only confirms what I knew all along, that I am disgracefully ignorant of American politics and willfully ignorant of classic television.

Thirteen colonies? That's bad luck. Who was the colony wizard who came up with that one?

Probably that villainous Ben Franklin, otherwise known as Blackbeard the Cyclotron.

All 200 episodes? I'm one short. The "lost" episode which unfortunately ADV could not bring over to America with the SailormoonR boxset. The dinosaur episode. Do you know where I could find said episode for my viewing pleasure?

There were dinosaurs in Sailor Moon R? I must have fallen asleep during that part. Come to think of it I fell asleep during a lot of parts. As for the box set, I wouldn't know. I watched this back in the dark ages when you could still download fansubs via HTTP.

You play D&D. You get ten thousand cool points. What classes/races do you mostly play as, or do you have a preferred race/class?

I usually play bards so I can mess with people's minds. Luckily I'm not too good at that in real life.

from christianfriend:

1)what is your fav video game?

The last one I played. Right now that would be World of Warcraft. For all time, though, I will have to go with Final Fantasy II. Yes, that's two, not eleven. You spoony bard! Oh, the memories...

2)Fav movie?

The Spongebob movie, or Harold and Kumar Go to Whitecastle.

3)have you ever been to an anime convention? If you havent then what chracter would you dress up as?

I have been! Unfortunately I was forced to spend half of it dressed as Ryouga from Ranma 1/2. Luckily all photos of this event have been destroyed.

I may not be out of the woods, though. I will be hitting one or two cons this year and certain forces beyond my control are conspiring to get me into an Inuyasha suit. Blackmail opportunities abound.

Now, what would I choose? Wait, you mean people go to anime conventions without people commandeering their bodies for their own unholy pleasure? No way!

4)do you wear hats?

I do not! My hair is a force of nature and must not be hidden from view.

5)do you have any animlas?

I do! My family has two cats (one regular, one decaf), and I take care of a small koi and a turtle for my younger brother. The cats and the turtle are very good at keeping me up at night. I'm sure the goldfish would, too, if he could make more noise.

from Ingemar:

How could you love and hate Love Hina simultaneously?

It's chock full of fanservice, but it utterly fails to be horrible. It also fails to be outstanding enough to overlook the fact that the creator is overtly trying to hook me through the crotch. It's conflicting, to say the least.

I do like to swim! I don't do it much now though because my friends are afraid of swimsuits.

My favorite RP is Fruits Basket, no question. I should go post in there...

My favorite Fruits Basket manga character? Ask me tomorrow and it's sure to be different - there are so many good ones to choose from. Right now my favorite is Kagura. It's funny because I used to hate her for being psychotic and possessive, but now I think it's cute. She's insane, but she's insane with LOVE!!!111eleven11

Why is the sky blue?

How come you're so good at pacman?

What anime character do you have a crush on?

What anime character do you look and are like personality wise?

What anime would you transport yourself to if you could and why?
Absence is to love as wind is to a flame. It extinguishes the little, it ignites the great.

Life is a test. It is only a test. Had this been real life you would have have been instructed where to go and what to do.

When i argue with reality I lose.....But only 100% of the time.

Once you've decided on a course of action, only you can finish it. As long as you remember that, there's nothing you can't accomplish.

from Kura Ookami:

Why is the sky blue?

Blah blah blah light scattering blah blah blah width of an oxygen atom blah blah fell asleep in physics class blah...

How come you're so good at pacman?

Pac-man was born in 1980. I was born in 1981. I've been playing it on and off since I was four.

What anime character do you have a crush on?

Misha from Pita Ten. Everything about her is perfect. Her unending cheer, her undying devotion, her pervasive incompetence, her semi-sentient hair accessories...

What anime character do you look and are like personality wise?

The physical resemblance is a little sketchy, but I act most like Vash. Just your average enlightened berserker goofball.

What anime would you transport yourself to if you could and why?

I would go to Ranma 1/2 and learn a ludicrously themed martial art. I could train much harder there because in Ranma, you can survive anything if you do the magic hand symbol (both arms up, ring and middle fingers down, index and pinky up) before impact.

from biglseepj:

What pray tell is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?

11 m/s or approximately 24 miles per hour. Hooray for Google.

You say you're an attempted cartoonist...got any of your cartoons handy?

Indeed I do! Here's a smattering of my less shameful works.

ART TIME!!!

Here are a few of the college newspaper strips.

The beginning...

More Photoshop abuse.

An abortive attempt at a collaborative comic:

The Pirates of Mastadon Meadows!

Taco Nirvana.

A one-shot shoujo manga parody that sprang from the question, "What if shoujo heroines actually made it to school on time?"

Jacquelyn, the Unlikely Shoujo Heroine.

And finally, some character sketches I did for some roleplays right here at CAA!

Yumeno Yousuke, Kamui School.

Sohma Shinji, Fruits Basket RP.

Thanks for the questions everybody!
