My name is Ashley but I go by Ashlynn. I'm 15, 5'6", red heaireded and blue eyeded. I'm a sophmore in 11h grade and I love peanut butter. My best friend is nick named Squishy and she is the strongest most supportive person in my life. I do believe in aliens, and well... I'm not going to go into my theological belives lest I start a fire. Me and my friends are very wierd. We scare kids at my school with our odd-ness. I like to draw and I like to sing, I like to dance, I like to write. My friend Lauren-Chan and I are in a Happy Hardcore band called Pixi. My step-dad is in a trance band called mint. My worst fear is being alone. My favourit food is baclava. Favourite colour is black, favourite album is Art of Drowning favourite song is Morningstar on Art of Drowning by AFI. Yeah so that's a brief view at the odd-ness of me.

Hi, Ashley! Hmm... I guess in deference to our illustrious admin Ashley (or Ms. Ashley as some call her around here), will it be ok to call you by your handle, Lain?

Anyways, it's nice to see a new face here, and it's ok to believe in aliens... I just know they're too smart to hang out at a crazy little blue-green ball like this one, so that's why we're having such a hard time finding any of them. ;2)

Wecome aboard. How do you do?
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Neil Postman
(The End of Education)

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge

If I ate hot-dogs I'd try it but hot-dogs are like butchers scraps. Eyeballs and intestines and yucky junk like that.

Yes. I stay far away from hot dogs. Even when there's peanut butter on them, it doesn't mask the raccoon flavor enough.
