well, Aoshi seems like he started as a bad guy, but then by the end he was more viewed through a positive, bad goes good, perspective, so he is, in end result, not really a villain.

Only saw the beginning of the series so far... in my eyes he's the best bad guy for most of the show.

I think Aoshi's role flows more like this: Anti-hero to villain to good guy.

Well, anyone who fights Kenshin or any of the characters I like will have to do a lot of good before I call 'em a good guy. Like Sanosuke. I guess you could call them the anti-heroes if ya want.

Sojiro, Aoshi and Sano, in that order. :) I love them. Well, Kenshin was pretty wonderful when he was bad, but these guys are next.

Forgive the analogy, but I think Aoshi is to Kenshin what Seto Kaiba is to Yugi.

Shoot, Kaiba and Aoshi even look alike. ^_^
