Welcome, Chloe (not your real name) ! :lick:

That is perhaps the most interesting bio I've ever read on CAA. Oh, the stories you could tell (I'm guessing). Speaking of stories... If you haven't found the "writing" forum here, it's waiting for you! :)

Thanks. My stuff is probably too long to put in the writing forum, and my poetry is lousy. Maybe I'll write an essay about something "off the cuff."

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I have never read, "Wolves At Our Door." I'll look into finding it at the library some time. You've piqued my curiousity.

It's a book and also a documentary. I've read the book; haven't watched the documentary yet. It's in a drawer waiting for me. :)

Hey! Glad to have you here!

Out of curiousity, what kind of music did you do as a Christian singer/songwriter and what's it like doing that kind of thing? I've thought about doing that a lot.

Mineko,

First of all, I was a very local musician and still am. I once did a recording in the Phillipines back in the 80s while travelling with a missionary group. I'm sure that has long since been tossed in the trash.
In 1988, when I moved to Texas, I lost all my writings. Everything. I thought maybe God didn't want me to perform any more. So, I started my family and went on with life. So, in 1998, my sweet husband thought it was time I picked up a guitar again and bought me a beautiful red Takamine for our anniversary. I've been writing a lot of new stuff since.

Hmm. :stressed: What was it like doing Christian music? It was both utterly fantastic and utterly vulnerable. Sometimes everything is going great and other times you might make a mess of everything. I'm a shy person by nature, but on a stage I became someone else. Also, if your heart isn't right with God - meditating and praying beforehand - then what you write or do on stage will surely not be as much of a blessing - to you or the audience. In Christian music it's not just raw talent, it's really what's inside you. You have this great message to share of Christ and also of how to live and be as a person. The Bible has to be your main reference guide and the Spirit has to be working with you. That's why I love artists like Nicole Nordeman, the late Rich Mullins and Stephen Curtis Chapman. Their lyrics were plucked from God's heart to be shared with others.

The kind of music I did was a mix of classical, jazz, folk and acoustic rock. Recently I did some new stuff for two women's retreats and I think they were the best compositions God ever blessed me with. I find as I mature as a believer I convey a more clear message in my music and lyrics.

I guess the theme and advice for you is: Walk with the Lord in all ways, and seek Him first. Everything else follows.

Sorry for the long reply. I tend to go on and on...

If you want to talk more just pm me. :jump:

This is gravedigging but I'm on a roll. :) Hope you dont mind chloe. I'll ask you one of the questions i asked kaji as well as a few others.

What anime couple resembles you and your husband the most?

What anime character are you most like? Chloe from Noir?

What anime would you like to be transported to and why?

What are your favorate anime quotes?

Well, that's all. I hope you dont mind my gravedigging and also hope that you'll take the time to answer my questions.

Life is a test. It is only a test. Had this been real life you would have have been instructed where to go and what to do.

When i argue with reality I lose.....But only 100% of the time.

Wow, you've been a busy little grave digger, Kura.:P ;)

:) Hope you dont mind chloe.

No, I don't. ^__^

Let's see, only anime-related questions, okay... I shall try and answer.

What anime couple resembles you and your husband the most?

None really. our love has a more realistic deepness that I haven't seen in anime. BTW, it will be our 17th wedding anniversary on the 19th, this Saturday.

What anime character are you most like? Chloe from Noir?

Hah, I could never murder people, so not Chloe. She's just a little too psycho.:eh:

Again, anime characters have such a "set" personality by their creator it is hard to be like any ONE anime character. I think a living, breathing human just can't be compared since they have their own varied and diverse personality.

However, I've seen one character that certainly comes close to me and that is, Shigure of Fruits Basket. He's very easy going, writes, loves to play jokes, never takes anything seriously unless it is truly important, hospitable, and is very canine.

I'd like to say I'm also a little like Shuko (the aunt?) of Angelic Layer, Misato of NGE and Haruka of Rahxephon.

What anime would you like to be transported to and why?

None. I prefer the world I'm living in here. However, if I take your question to the furthest part of my imagination and fulfill this fantastical question... um, Comic Party and producing doujinshi with my friends. ^____^

What are your favorate anime quotes?

ACK, another anime question. (-__-)\;; Hum, I'd have to really think hard on this. I don't really pay that much attention to anime to know of a quote. I'd pick something that made me laugh a lot if anything. I do like the term "wiggly Ichaan."

Well, that's all. I hope you dont mind my gravedigging and also hope that you'll take the time to answer my questions.

No, and I did. ^____^

neat..it sounds like you had a really interesting time..and still do! I really wish I could travel, I live here in Texas also but sometimes ..a lot of times..I just want to see the world :( so when I get old enough I think I will travel around and hopefully God will keep me safe! I would definitely like to live abroad for awhile. As much as I like America, it's just not the whole world and I wish more people would understand that...

lol ok, i realize i'm quoting from 2003, but still

I realize now, since I am from Gardena, CA, a very Japanese town and lived my college years with Asian friends, anime was always calling to me.

o.O I know someone in Gardena! lol, it just stuck out for some reason b/c I was just talking to someone a couple nights ago about how to pronounce it lol.

You must be new and I'm guessing you're a Rurouni Kenshin fan. Am I right? ^__^ Well, welcome to CAA.

I don't write fanfiction, sorry. I don't even really enjoy reading it. :D Lately, however, I have been thinking over writing a "One Piece" fanfic, only because I want to see more stories with Tony Chopper and Nico Robin. But, that is a passing thought, I'm sure.

Yep, I'm both new (though I read lots of forum threads for months before I finally found an avatar and registered) and a Rurouni Kenshin fan. If you ever change your mind and end up writing that 'One Piece' fiction, I'd still love to read it!

I hope you understand I am still quite sane. I just have a hobby of finding anagrams for people's usernames. For example, yours:
