Hello!
I'm new here too. It's nice to be able to go to a place with people who like anime who love God as well. The only place I knew of at first was animeangels.net, but stumbled upon this place. I agree with Gypsy--Anime like everything else is entertainment, and you have to be careful what you feed your head. I'm a bit irked at animes that have gays, guts, and no noticeable good message to it--but I've found a few that are better than the average anime.
Off hand, the manga Confidential Confessions, to me, seems to have the deepest subjects and lessons to it. Its could be a bit hard to handle--it deals with real life horrors for teens like self-mutilation, suicide, and prostitution (and that's just in the one volume that I have). I can't call it uplifting, but the stories bring through their characters that suicide isn't the best answer, that there can be hope. Anyway, blabbing here *Grins*
I'm personally in love with anime as an art form as well. And yeah--it does give a good thing to bring up discussion and something in common with many non-believers
