Anybody here play Ultima Online? There are a number of free servers (Origin lost the court case, so they're officially legal)

It's a pretty nice MMORPG.

The easiest way to get the client (600+ MB) is to use the gigex downloader here[/ur].

To connect: you'll need [url=http://www.uogateway.com/]UO Gateway to choose what shard (server) you want to play on.

If you don't use UO Gateway, you can only connect to Origin's servers, which require payment.


If anyone wants to join me, I typically play on UO Gamers - The RunUO Shard. If you want to play, feel free to contact me and I can provide free leather armor. (If there's interest, maybe we could start a CAA guild in the game. I already have a small house and a ship.)

I played it back in the 90's. It was good untill we realized the adims loathed all of the end users and let people pk in town. Troups of mounted pkers rode rramoant through town, slaying as they wished. Good times.

The player-run shards can be a little different from the OSI shards. (I take it you played before the introduction of Trammel?)

Yeah. I quit in....gosh. late 90's. It was an official server if I remember correctly. I didn't like dropping everything I had on me after dying. ('cept my spellbook.)
