Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

...the release of Halo 2. I plan for it to be big, with as many people as possible. The biggest game I've ever had was a four player FFA, but for this, I want to get 16 people together. How should I go about setting this up? It will be held in an outdoor screen house type thing. Four TVs, Four 'BOXs. There will, of course, be refreshments, but I do not wish to be responsible for funding the entire thing. Is the whole party thing a good idea?

Multiplayer Halo is a lot of fun, so you should definitely try to set it up if you can.

In order to hook up all four Xboxes, you will probably need a hub/router (along with the cables, of course). If it is like the first one, you will also need four copies of Halo 2. Refreshments are a must, so you will have to factor those into the cost as well.

If you don't already have that stuff (not to mention four Xboxes), then you are looking at a lot of money to put this thing together. If you could get some people to split the costs of the router/cables, then it probably wouldn't be too costly for any one person.

I have a friend with a hub, so I don't have to worry about that. We use it often when we go to each other's houses. I have 3 friends, all with XBOX's, so that's taken care of. I just need more friends. I don't want to invite a bunch of people I don't know. I can most likely find 7 or 8 people to come, but that's half of what I want. The problem will be four copies of Halo 2. I have one on reserve, as do two of my other friends, but I need the fourth copy. It will be hard to find in a rental store...

I doubt you'd find anyone who would be willing to give up their copy so early, but ask around at school. Who knows. As far as funding, tell people to chip in for food. It isnt a birthday party or anything, so people should be happy to chip in a few bucks for pizza and crap.

I live in an extremely rural area...everyone just about at school are red-neck wannabes. Or preps. Most of them don't play games, they say they are for "little immature kids". I'll tell you what, Game Designers make more money than they ever will. IF you stay on the internet alot, they say you have no life, but why have I seen some of them on AIM for 8 or 9 hours at a time? Anyway, back to the subject. I'll ask for them to do that.
