Postby starfire » Thu Sep 30, 2004 2:53 pm

Hello, I'm new to Christian Anime Alliance. I joined a few minutes ago. I have seen your site before and enjoy your discussions very much! Does anyone else enjoy Teen Titans? I know it isn't an anime but it's still my favorite show!

Hey, I might be the first person to say hello to you!

Hello! I also like Teen Titans, and I like Starfire (but not as much as Raven).

I also know WAY too much about TT as well. Beast Boy's real name is Garfield Logan!

Have fun.

HAHA! Thanks!! People replied! Me? What to say... I'm somewhat hyper I must admit! I like Teen Titans as well however there is one thing that bothers me. As a christian I have some issues with Rave. Are her powers kinda er... strange to anyone else? I'm kinda looking forward to learning what other christian anime fans think. But anyway does anyone think Saint Tail is the cutest show you've EVER SEEN? *GOING INTO HYPER MODE* :thumb: ;) I LOVE THOSE LITTLE SMILEYS!

Welcome aboard, starfire. I like both Teen Titans and Saint Tail as well.

Raven's powers are derived from her parentage (her father is a demon, after all) and she is a little creepy, but it doesn't bug me very much. She lives in a fantasy world where the rules are slightly different from our own - I'm not sure it's even possible for one to be the daughter of a demon, but that's a topic for a different debate. As far as fiction is concerned, I look more to what the characters are doing with their powers, and in this case, it's pretty positive.

Aringato Gozaimasu minai! (That does mean thank you very much everyone, right?) That is really creepy about her. I don't know much about the story just cartoons so I may just stay away from the ones with her as a main char. I read the manga and I have a dvd of the anime. THey're both so cute! I think I've read all or at least the majority of the manga! WHich do you like best? My favorite character is Asuka though I'm most like Meimi! How about you? Anyway sorry about the plain profile. I switched computers so I'm trying to get new pics. If anyone has some info on profiles I'd me grateful! Bye!

Hey Star,

Welcome to Titian Tower…. Er, I mean CAA. ^_^

I know what you mean about Raven. I think she is interesting, but if you find her character to be causing you to sin just really creep you out, then maybe it is something you shouldn’t watch.

Personally I find Ravens contrast to Starfire one of the more amusing elements of the story. They are virtually complete opposites.
One is tall, one is short
One wears very little cloths, one wears a heady cape and hood
One is physically strong, one is physically weak
One is loud, one is quiet
One expresses emotions easily, one is very reserved

Just about everything about them is different…

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your stay here. :thumb:

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I may not know the conjugation you are using, but I would use the term "Mina" or "Mina-san" to mean everybody. But there are those here whose nihongo chishiki is much greater than mine.

Hi! I tried to send you a PM, but you must have it disabled or something. :wah: But, somewhere you asked if anybody likes Saint Tail:

I DO!!! Me and Gypsy love this manga.

If you wana talk more about it, you can PM me or find a Saint Tail thread. Surely there's one somewhere. . . *wanders off in search of thread*
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.
