This is me

Name: Thomas
Age: 19
Nationality: Chinese-American
Home: Indiana
Currently: Austin, Texas
School: Concordia University of Austin, majoring in History
Languages: Chinese and English fluently, some very minor Japanese
Hobbies: Miniature modeling, martial arts, excercise, watching anime, playing video games, spending some time at my school's chapel, trying to voice act.
Fav animes: Escaflowne, Gundam Wing, Cowboy Bebop, Now and Then, Here and There.
Fav video games: MGS games, DW games, SC II, FF VII, FFT, XS, ZOE 2, Tom Clancy games.

I was saved when I was about 12, but I strayed from the path for a while, and it wasn't until when I was around 17 that I was reborn as a Christian again. Those 5 years were rough, but I've got God to thank for helping me through and being saved again. I practiced Kendo for about a year, and it was fun. I came upon CAA through Psycho Ann's website (which is a great site BTW), and decided it was a cool community to be at.

I'm not usually this talkative, but I feel comfortable here. I'm typically a shy, reserved, calm, and easy going person. I rarely get angry, but I do get frustrated a lot though. Since I'm a long way from my home, and don't really know any one at my university, this has become my home away from home, and I've been enjoying it very much.

I guess thats it, and may God bless CAA and all y'all out there!

I'm glad you found a home-away-from-home! Everyone who contributes to CAA helps make it what is, and that includes you!

God Bless

Interesting. What do you plan to do with your History degree? Become a professor/teacher or something else? // You also have good tastes in games. :)

Thanks to both of you, and Saint, I'm trying to be an anime or video game director as my dream goal. Something like a screenplay/script writer would be cool too.

Neat, I never have time for miniatures painting anymore :(. Anyways, what area of history are you focussing on?
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Neil Postman
(The End of Education)

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge

Thanks everyone, the university that I'm attending is a Christian liberal arts university, so the history is generic western European/U.S./Christianty w/some on important topics (WWII, Cold War, etc)

Tommy: I think you'll be okay here, they have a thin candy shell. 'Surprised you didn't know that.
Richard: I think your brain has a thick candy shell.
Tommy: Your... Your brain has the..shell on it..
Richard: Are you talking?
Tommy: Shut up, Richard.
