Hmm, "I have earlier explained my position on whether I can be considered interesting." So that's yours, but not mine. You are a little bit uniques, like most people. You have had a different life, one unfamiliar to me. You seem like you have strong character in many areas. Among the most important reasons, you are someone I can learn from. Besides the previosly mentioned, you are a cool person.

That said, thank you for taking it as the positive assesment that it is. There is more truth than simply generosity in that. :)

Oh, Omega I forgot to tell you that I also looooove playing Jazz on the piano. My teacher says I have a tallent for expresion, like you. :) But a bad habbit I get into is that I memorize the song like after playing it a few times, and if I play it wrong....then I learn it wrong....So my teacher likes how I memorize fast but only if I learn it right first!

When I think of black hair after a good deal of time has passed... no matter whose black hair I am viewing at the moment... I will eventually start thinking of one person's black hair.

Some people have myriad thoughts and memories from looking at a family picture. I have a similar experience when thinking of this person's black hair. A feeling of warmth and security can surface in the midst of concern and worry, all indicative of her powerful love. I sometimes see her hair as a veil where behind I sometimes hear gentle laughter or emotionally intense crying. The black color will remind me of dark nights of lullabies, dreams, and nightmares expressed by rhythmic, deep, soft breaths. The bright sheen from a sudden sway of her hair reminds me of her energy, mischief, and command and my commitment to her well-being and happiness.

Ultimately, I think of black hair as a memento of my mother, since she has beautiful black hair, and the impressions I have received from being her son.

It's beautiful how you appreciate your mother so much.

This avatar and sig color is not new at all. In fact, this is the original color scheme that I used when I first joined CAA. No, there is no special reason for the change. I just periodically change my color scheme. See my first post in this thread for more details.

Ok, I've got another question for you. I don't know if this has been asked already, so please forgive me if it has.

When did you first start being interested in anime, and what got you interested in the first place?

Kinkosami wrote:When did you first start being interested in anime, and what got you interested in the first place?
Hmm, this will be a two part answer.

The first time that I watched anime (and aware it was anime) was the day before my first day as a student at Georgia Tech. I was watching Toonami's Midnight Run which showed Dragonball Z and Gundam Wing uncut. At that time, I was fairly impressed from an entertainment point of view, and since I do not like watching most TV programming, I decided it was worth my time. However, at that time, I did not feel it became a major interest for me yet.

After seeing more Toonami and seeing anime titles from acquaintances I met at Georgia Tech during my freshman year, I can say that I decided to take a major interest in this media genre and start making purchases. I made it a major interest for myself when I decided this was a serious and very mature art form and not just entertainment.

A side note: Cartoon Network's and other Turner cable channels' headquarters are located next to the north side of the Georgia Tech campus.
Sam*ron wrote:Okay.....ummmm.....Who's your favorite actor/actris?
Oh, that's a tough one.... I really like actors and actresses from the earlier film eras like the 40s and 50s (though I also like others afterwards). For actors, men like Charlton Heston, Humphrey Bogart, Gregory Peck, and Sidney Poitier come to mind. For actresses, Audrey Hepburn, Katherine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, and Gong Li stand out. If I had the time to spare, I could give huge lists... which probably indicates that I do not really have a favorite actor/actress.

Oh, cool... Yeah all those older peeps were cool. I like the guy who played "Rett Butler" on gone with the wind. He was funny.

Right now I really like Mel Gibson, even though he is not much of a actor now, but he was. He's a great guy, and I don't really have any favorite actress.

Okay, funny question, what is your favorite emoticon on the CAA board?

I do not have a favorite emoticon. I guess this is because I just do not use them.

Why would I shoot you if that was the case? I do not get upset over repeat questions. Relax. The worst outcome would be where I simply redirect you to where I previously answered the question.
sheherazade wrote:What is your fav kind of pizza and fav kind of icecream (includes serving style and toppings)?
I really like all types of pizza. However, if I have to pick a favorite pizza dish, I believe a supreme (with extra meat toppings and hot peppers) pizza served deep-dish style would be it.

As for ice cream, I do not really have a favorite since I practically like all flavors of ice cream with any combination of toppings and cones (or no cones).

I really do not have favorites when it comes to most foods, drinks, or even their specific flavors or serving styles. Hence, that is why I do not have a list in this thread addressing that subject.

Thank you for answering. What is your fav kind of pizza and fav kind of icecream (includes serving style and toppings) is actually part of a complex and pointless attempt at culinary psychological analysis. Pray tell, have you even the slightest hint of preference between chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, mint, or neapolitan(sp?)?

My preference between ice creams does not not rely on the type of flavor but the quality of the flavor itself regardless of its type. For example, if you gave me a chocolate and a vanilla, and it was clear that the chocolate was poorly made compared to the vanilla, I would go with the vanilla (and vice versa). The issue with me is whether the chocolate/vanilla tastes like chocolate/vanilla should taste. For your psychological analysis, you should note me down as a person whose attitude toward ice cream flavors is so random that a definite "favorite" cannot be derived.
Sam*ron wrote:Gosh Omega, just pick one. (To make me feel better :) )
But then, I would be disingenous since whatever I pick would not be actually my favorite. I do not see how that would make you happy. I do not mind other people using emoticons. It is my personal preference to not use them.
Sam*ron wrote: Okay, have you ever gotten in trouble for doing something bad enough to get arested?
No.

As a note to others who are reading this thread, I would prefer that this thread do not become an investigation on what bad things I have done.

Sam*ron, I already know you meant no harm in asking this question. I just felt I should make that note.
sheherazade wrote:do you have a favorite song(s)?
Ah, this is going to be like my answer on movie actors/actresses. Let us see.... (A song requires some type of singing.) Carmina Burana, Ode to Joy, Handel's Messiah, a specific musical passage in the opera Turandot.... I believe for jazz I would go with the song "Summertime" sung by Ella Fitzgerald. (Actually, that is all I can remember at the moment.) Most of Precious Death's and Grammatrain's songs.... And there are plenty more in many other genres that I cannot recall at the moment.
uc pseudonym wrote:This could be viewed as a modification of the question, or as a question of my own, as you feel is appropriate: if you were to be forced to express one feeling with an emoticon instead of words, what emoticon would you use?
This is a very different question from Sam*ron's since it assumes that I am forced in a situation where I can only express in a manner that is against my preference.

I am certain I will be frustrated and angry that I am forced into this situation. Furthermore, I tend to be quiet in this mood.... So.... I would most likely use the "pinned" smiley that is available. It would indicate my desire to go back to expressing in words.

Yes, I had a mixed German Shepherd dog. He was a very sweet dog, and to this day, I still consider him one of my best loving friends ever. I try not to think about him too much now, otherwise I will become greatly saddened and feel torn with heavy emotions due to the sudden nature of his death that took place several years ago. (I would prefer to not talk about his death.)

Before I had my dog, I had fish in an aquarium, but I never became emotionally attached to them since they kept jumping out of the tank and consequently killing themselves. Now, I have no pets.

The "grin" smiley.

My mother never expressed her feelings to me on which one was the funniest. However, she often cites this incident. When I was a very young child (and I remember doing this), I woke up and it was late morning and I still saw my mother in bed. I became a little concerned since she usually woke up earlier. So, I climbed on top of her bed. My face was just a few inches from her face, where her eyelids were closed and a small smile started to creep. Then I would very gently place my fingers on her eyelids and then open them while saying, "Mommy, are you awake?"

My mother was actually awake throughout that whole incident, and she could not help but laugh very hard after it unfolded. At the time, I was pretty confused at her reaction (but then I was very young). Today, I chuckle about it.

Hello, Mylares.

I am not sure I would make a good writer. Any plot ideas I came up with tend to fall apart quickly, and when I have written stories, I tend to write so slowly that I considered it unproductive. Regardless, I do not have the time to write stories now. Graduate school keeps you busy.

It seems you have a lot of questions to answer, so I'll keep mine to short and scarce.

I've been wondering, what type of schooling did you have growing up? Did you go to public school, or did you attend a Christian school or private school?

If you don't feel comfortable answering this, just tell me. :)

Yes I understand, we used to have a little poodle before our doggie now. And she died a very unpleasant way. But lets not talk about me. Lets talk about you!

Is that supposed to be funny?

Why don't you just put it? It's not that hard....

You seem very fond of your mother and father. I respect that very much. :)
That was probably the cutest thing I have read, just let me say it..... Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!! Thats soooooo cute! *Glomps Omega* *Pats on head* Sorry, I get to happy sometimes...

I used to do that to my brother and he thought I was dead.

Yes, I had a mixed German Shepherd dog. He was a very sweet dog, and to this day, I still consider him one of my best loving friends ever. Oh..That's sad...::hug Omega AMEN::...But I love German Shepherd dogs Omega AMEN!!!! A lot of people I know are scared of them and prefer the cute itty-bitty dogs, but I love them. My mom's friend has a FARM!!! And there used to be a cute German Shepherd dog there and she carried me around on her back!! (I was young...so it was okay..)

My mother never expressed her feelings to me on which one was the funniest. However, she often cites this incident. My mother was actually awake throughout that whole incident, and she could not help but laugh very hard after it unfolded. At the time, I was pretty confused at her reaction (but then I was very young). Today, I chuckle about it.

Hahahahahaha I'm sorry Omega AMEN...but that has to be the cutest thing ever!!! I wish I could've seen it. Is your personality now the same as it was when you were a child?? I know some things must have changed 'cause you're all big now..but your..general...personality?? @.@; Argh...I am bad at asking questions..!
