Jrock questions I need answering...

Postby DrNic » Thu Jul 29, 2004 3:03 pm

Ok, and for my first new thread of the month:

1.) Jrock band Nightmare: Are they chicks or guys? Just wondering because you can't actually tell. Its nice to actually know who your listening to when your playing music...

2.) Do you guys know anywhere I can buy Mad Capsule Markets albums that aren't £50 a piece (preferably cheaper :D)?

3.) Where can I download music by Miyavi, Bleachmobile, The Gimmies, Kagrra and Thee Machine Gun Elephant? (don't worry, I buy music after I download it cuz I h8 ripping bands off)

Thx for the help guys.

Kool. Thx kaze.

Whoops. I've just noticed that I wrote 'machine gun' instead of 'michelle gun'. Oh, well, I can't really be bothered to change it.

What is Jroc?
"Relax, turn around, and take my hand." Tool
"Heir Kommt Die Sonne." Rammestein
"Now the world is gone, I'm just one. Oh please God help me." Metallica
"Are You Ready?!?" KoRn

Um.. what's wrong with Malice Mizer? o_O Have you actually read any of the lyrics? I'm not even sure what you mean by the lyrics being "horrible", whether you mean that they're evil or something, or poorly-written.. If it's the former than I highly doubt you've actually read any of them.. if the latter, well, I beg to differ as I find them rather creative and eloquent. I admit that the music video to Illuminati is a bit risque, but come *on*, that's really only one x_x; I don't mean to sound didactic but since MM is my favourite band I actually *do* know what I'm talking about >_>;;

Um.. o_O I don't understand how anyone can find their lyrics disturbing. People tend to assume that because of how they dress, methinks.. x_x]read[/i] them.

Yeah, I found out recently that most visual kei bands are male and alot of them dress to look very feminin. Personally I find that I generally like music by non-visual kei bands more (eg. the mad capsule markets, amazing). Having said that, MIYAVI ROX!!!

I'm not a fan of malice mizer. Nothing to do with the lyrics or the way they look (gothic bands are kool, so are wierd music videos). I just can't believe they were influenced by french baroque music (bleh!!). Perhaps I'd get more into them if I heard more stuff.

the first time I saw a picture of Miyavi I was like "o.O a woman?" XD it's not necessarily the way he dresses, but his face and stuff looks feminine. his music rocks it hardcore though.

I like X Japan's music even though they sometimes did some freaky stuff on stage. to me the music is just too good to pass up just because they looked weird in the 80s XD

some of Hide's solo work is pretty good too, if you can find any. -although-, I've heard that the lyrics are kinda bad sometimes. I don't know yet because nobody has any stinking translations >_< so far the only songs I have are...Psyche, Misery (which is really good), Pink Spider (also pretty good), and some funky little song called Drink or Die.

Plastic Tree has done some good work too and they're not visual kei. stuff from the Toroimerai album is good, like Chiriyuku Bokura, that's a great song. so far the only "bad" song from them I've heard is Gin no Hari (Silver Needle)...it kinda talks about drugs. more often than not I've been really impressed with Ryutarou's lyrics.
