1. In your opinion, what is so great about Texas?

Whoa, nice throwback Omega! Talk about digging up the past...

Well Ash it was nice to read your bio, and I realized I never commented on it. I like your blog, and it's good to see another football fan here. For some reason, there just doesn't seem to be many that can talk both anime AND sports here, so, I might have to talk some football with you, if we should meet on MSN sometime. By the way, my team (the Broncos) and your team (the Raiders) are bitter AFC West Rivals and have been for as long as I can remember, but I don't hold that against you.

I knew this post would come eventually...so yes, I have been preparing myself to answer these questions for quite some time now. *cracks knuckles*

1. In your opinion, what is so great about Texas?

I would say the history--I mean, we have such a rich (ok, if not overly played up) heritage: as a province of Mexico, as a country, and as a state. And I like living in Houston--there's a lot to do, see, experience, and well, there's just a lot of perks to living in the fourth largest city in the nation. Oh, and I happen to like the Texans a lot too....not as much as I like the Raiders, but enough.

2. You stated that you like three movie series here (i.e. Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Indiana Jones). Tell me your favorite movie from each of these series.

Hmm, I would say Return of the Jedi from Star Wars, Eesh....um....Return of the King for Lord of the Rings, and wow, the Indy one is really tough. While I really love Raiders of the Lost Ark, I guess deep down I really love The Last Crusade best. Huh, looking back, I notice I have a tendency to like the last movies best. Not so in two other movie chains I like: Back to the Future (first) and the Matrix (first). Though you didn't ask, I'm a sucker for ANY history movie, accurate or not. Anything from Timeline to Troy, I'll watch, and I am especially fond of time travel movies.

3. What has your experience as a waitress taught you?

Wow, that's a tough one...um, for one thing, there really is a lot more to someone than you can see. I deal with a lot of jerks on occasion, and they can leave very nice tips. Obversely, I can have a really sweet couple at a table and they leave virtually nothing--and while compliments are nice, I'm not in the job for the lip service. On a less serious note, I've learned to balance more things than I ever though possible (5 glasses, 4 plates, 2 baskets and a gumbo bowl with a fork on top). And I learned the difference between several kinds of fish, and how to fold silverware.

4. What do you think about black hair?
Black hair is sexy! Especially with green eyes. I'm nuts for green eyes.

Now, for the serious questions. I would really like to have your answers to these questions, but if you choose not to answer them, I understand, and I will not press you. Note that the following questions are different from what I have been asking the other staff members.

5. First, click here to revisit a site from the past. Now tell me your thoughts on the evolution of this organization. How has this organization changed? How has this organization stayed the same? Any reflections on the changes your organization has made and the constants it has maintained?

Whoa, how'd you find that? How have we changed? Wow, more ways than I can count--as I have said many times, CAA was originally meant to be just a glorified webring. Now we have a full blown forum with our own servers and domains. And as the forum grows, so I must grow with it, and I don't think that growth ha sbeena bad thing most of the time. How has it remained the same? Well, the idea is still the same--link up people like me: Christians who happen to like anime. Who view anime through a Christian perspective. That has never changed. As for some reflections--well, there are things I would go back and change, obviously. Painful decisions and tough times are inevitable. I think our hundred-fold growth is a very clear sign that God is blessing our goal/missions here, though sometimes I will admit I don't always feel that way. Even if I don't change the world directly, I look at what has happened to the members here---members like UC and Psycho Ann who are working together now, or Mave and Chloe--and I remind myself if I had not stayed faithful to the course chosen for me, they might have never met and the good works they are doing (as well as the good works to come) may have never happened.

6. As founder of this organization, is there anything that you find particularly pleasing about the current state of this community?

I'm flabbergasted that we're hundreds of members strong. Trust me, I had a heart attack when the member list exceeded 50, much less 100! And not only that, our members truly care and are very active. I see lots of beacons of light out there. I'm also excited that we have lots of resources at our disposal now--chat rooms, pm's, the gallery; those are such wonderful blessings and I see God is using them mightily for His works, which is of course very thrilling.

7. At this time, are there any future plans or intentions for this organization that you would like to share?

Honestly my staff and I tend to take things one day at a time. We never planned on having a forum to start with, then when we had one we never dreamed we would end up with professional, paid for software and a domain, and then we never imagined the wonderful things that would come from the gifted ones on staff, like the gallery and the database. Aside from that, what plans we do have we usually like to announce--Kaldris, Pilgrim's Progress, etc. Eventually I would like to see a small AMV/CGI branch doing some animation work, as well as a strong manga team. But, God's will, not mine, right?

Omega I appriciate you asking us these questions; it's been really interesting to me to see the other responses and I hope you've got something out of reading mine. I'm sure others were funnier or more interesting, but I tried to be honest.

Heh, one of these days I'm going to have to update my bio...I'll get to that eventually.

St.Kev, I may not know a whole lot about football (I am yet but a padawan) but I'd love to chat with you sometime, especially as the season gets going here soon. Heh, oh you're a Broncs fan huh? Well now....that's interesting.

Riana....I was wondering if anyone remembered me as that anymore. I'll explain...when I first hit online stuff (remember I was like, 15 when CAA started) I wanted to use a pseudonym, and Riana sounded so pretty. But then I let my pseudonym become a way of escaping and it tempted me to do/write things I wouldn't normally do/write in my Christian life. And plus, if I shared with people at school about CAA, I wanted them to be able to pick me out right away. So all that combined, along with some holy prodding, made me change my online alias (at least here) to my real name, boring as it is. =P

Omega I appriciate you asking us these questions]To the staff members that decided to take the time to answer my questions, I would like to express my gratitude. Yes, Ashley, I did get something out of reading your answers, and they satisfied my curiosity. I am glad that you were honest though I already assumed you would be. I never expected any humor from the staff's answers so there is really no cause to address that.

Now to uc pseudonym's curiosity.

I was motivated to ask this question because I was simply curious as to what the staff might possibly think about black hair. Yes, it was that obvious, and that is why I listed it under the "laid-back" question section. Although I place black hair as having a major impact on my sense of aesthetics and emotional attachment, my motivation for asking the staff on this subject was superficial and was not any deeper than what was originally stated in the question.

However, I must admit that I could come up with other motivational reasons such as Anime's irony in using non-black hair color for Asian characters, or symbolism in relation to various human emotions/myths/psychological states, or commentary on current secular social trends/fads, or something else that could match my reputation as being an overanalytical person.

But that would be dishonest. In short, I was simply curious.

As for using this information, I never really thought about that. I just planned on putting this in my memory as "nice things to know" and leave it at that. However, if you know of some way to use this piece of information to further some maniacal machination of epic proportions, please let me know.

That's funny. I read this and my husband has black hair, now peppered with white - soon to be disappearing altogether - since we are aging, and big green eyes with long eyelashes. One of the things which first attracted me to him.

Well, this is surprising. I never expected to find this much out. After reading this topic, some ideas have occured to me; I believe that one of the reasons you were lead to create the CAA is because of the prayers that were being lifted up by other people that they might find a site like this. I do not recall whether or not I prayed for a site like this, but I did want to find one like this. Also, as Omega Amen said, that website (the early version of the CAA) was a definite throwback. It was pleasing to find something like that - considering the way the CAA is now, and that my friend's song for the youth at my church was 'Shine', until my mother said that some Free Will Baptist(s) might not like it.

Cookies n' Cream served in a big huge bowl--I'm not very fond of cones, really. My favorite topping though on vanilla ice cream is caramel, though hot fudge is great too--with whip cream and nuts, please.

Well, we did, yes. Currently my family is seeking a different church in our area--but we did indeed attend Calvary Chapel Houston for 10 years. I was a youth leader there as well.
