Postby cwp_otaku » Mon Aug 18, 2003 2:23 pm

This is probablly going to sound really stupid, but what is this Oekaki I keep hearing about? I have no idea what so ever except that it is like a drawing message board. Please help :?: and excuse my stupidity :hits_self . Thanks

I could tell you ... or you could go up in the upper right hand corner of the screen and check it out yourself. It's pretty self-explanatory after you see one in action.

The main difference is the ability to comment on individual pics. For example, if I post three pics in my gallery instead of the oekaki, when someone comments the comments are all lumped together and you can't always tell what goes with what. Although the standard threads can post a wider variety of pics.

Is oekaki always CG (computer-generated) art?

*is also clueless*

If I understand correctly, the word itself means "drawing" so I guess no, but usually when you hear us use it, it is, because we draw it directly into the oekaki applet without using paper or a scanner.

I don't know an "oekaki" but it might be actually "e o kaku" => drawing ACC write => "to draw" ... ?

*ignorant* It's possible. What I said was just what I'd heard...^^ And you know how things get warped after a while.

Okay...I think I can explain this, at least to my understand of what Oekaki images are. From MY understand and what I consider Oekaki is to be work completely done by a tablet in a paintchat type area or board. It has no pre-drawing on paper or anything else, completely tablet pen and computer. XD That is why everything is sorta pixely compared to normal CGed stuff. Here are two examples of the difference.

Oekaki:

NOT Oekaki, just a normal pencil drawn and then CGed:

Any Questions? XD
