'Wings'

Postby Angel37 » Mon Jun 28, 2004 6:29 pm

Well, my first time posting poetry...ugh...I hope you like. Mind you, I wrote it about 2 in the morning. But here it is.

"Wings" (aka 'Tai Arashi Lang Nova')

My eyes are like the fire,
From which my soul burns,
Disconsolate wreckage,
And the bleeding of hearts gone astray.

I fly amongst them all,
Illsayers, do-nayers,
And this is my alibie,
That yet can I fly.

My emotions rise at sight,
Wings pierced from within,
I'm a speckled dove,
Made imperfect by sin.

Take me higher, God!
I am falling low,
And this is my reasoning,
For here I must go.

I reach out to touch,
Something not there,
And this is despair,
That I've flown nowhere.

These wings do not help me.
I cannot get by.
Here I stand alone.
Alone 'til I die.

But there are people without wings,
Who sing of remorse,
My job is to help them,
Holding out my hand to one.

And, taking it, I did see,
In eyes of misery, strife,
Desertion, Betrayal destroying,
And this is the norm for her.

She asked me what t was like to fly.
I couldn't lie; she never tried,
And I showed her what lies within,
My lonliness, my sin.

She touched my wound and I felt,
Like nothing before, a pain within.
She'd seen my heart, corrupted,
Then, turning inside out, showed me hers.

'Give me your wings,
So I might fly.'
But it is lonely in the sky!
I know for there I;ve been.

'Yet such lies my sin,
That I cannot walk,
Flying, it seems, for me,
Impossible. Cannot be.'

But you never tried!
'Within me, I've died.'
I touched her back and felt,
Her wounds seeming to melt...

And seeing with fiery eyes,
A new love for skies,
I picked her up and we fly,
Together, not alone.

This is my alibie,
I will fly in the sky,
With love 'til we die,
For my name is Tai.

Very, very nice poem. I know nothing of poetry, only if I enjoyed reading it or not - and I enjoyed reading this, Angel37. ^____^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Wow! Quite good. Sometimes I come across poems that make me feel something beyond words, close to tears but not yet. Yours did that.

Thank you Angel.

Tai
With your doubt, all is comfort
We are all as we appear
No more questions left unanswered
No more wonder, no more fear
Nothing is beauty, nothing's feeling
Blood where there once was a soul
So I ask you, prove yourself
Make me believe that you are whole

Great poem.
