I like RPGs and action games...but any games are welcome to suggestion. From what I've heard, I'm disappointed with the new HM: AWL...I remember when it used to be called "Hearts on Fire". Anyway, any suggestions for a game? Have they got any Anime games out? I can't wait for Tales of Symphonia.

What system are you looking for? Might have some suggestions... any limits (style, content, genre?)

If you want a good action game for the PS2, I would recommend Samurai Warriors. It deals with massive battles in feudal Japan, putting you in the place of an officer/hero from Japanese history. It is based on the Dynasty Warriors series, but with several improvements, such as optional missions within levels, special castle levels (clearing a stronghold floor-by-floor rather than fighting on one huge battlefield), and new items/weapons. Although it is not based on any anime, it does have the same voice actors as the English dub of Rurouni Kenshin (trust me...you will recognize them right away ;) ).

The game also employs several RPG elements, such as item hunting, stat increases, and variable skill trees. On top of that, if you don't like any of the standard characters, you can always create your own officer.

Thanks. I have no limits, as I have all 4 next gem systems...GBA, XBOX, PS2, GCN. I worked hard for them, too, lol...anyway, as far as content goes, it's okay as long as it's not TOO bad. I wouldn't play Vice City, for instance, but things like Halo, with some blood and gore, or even games with prostitutes being the only bad point I wouldn't mind.

Sorry...I forgot to mention possible objectionable content in Samurai Warriors. The game is rated "T" for Teen, but doesn't include any graphic violence, nudity, or coarse language. When you defeat an enemy, they simply disappear from the battlefield (sometimes with a cutscene), rather than laying around to rot. In addition, there is no blood or gore spattered around when you attack. To summarize, you shouldn't have a problem with objectionable content in Samurai Warriors. :)

Thanks. I've heard alot about the frame rates in Samurai Warriors for the PS2, so I might wait for the XBOX version to come out and see if it's any better.

I got the perfect game (based on what information has been around).... Spiderman 2

It's got the free-roaming city aspect of a game like GTA3, lots of gameplay and whatnot.... releases on Tuesday (or Wednesday) to go along with the release of the movie. Says it's got a "T" for violence (duh).

Theif was good.....

Morrowind if the magic aspect doesn't bother you and you have a few years to lose to it (be sure to get the GOTY version).

Panzer Dragoon Orta if you've never played it - the game still rocks (rail shooter, pretty slick)

I know there's more.

Neverwinter Nights. Based on AD&D rules. There's a lot of fantasy though, like deities and dragons and magic. It also has a huge online community and tons of downloadable content.

I second that Panzer Dragoon Orta suggestion, very lovely game. I also would look into Chronicles of Riddick (Oh wait it's 'M', such a shame, extradonaire game). Viewful Joe 2 should be coming out soon, I was a fan of the original on the 'Cube' and may I also look into Prince of Persia; that too it still awesome. Oh and Full Metal Spectrum is just one cool game to play with some friends on a weekend.

Full Spectrum is a great game, but some people have returned it to EB because they control the guys... quite a few poeple look at it and think of something like Ghost Recon, Full Spectrum is more of a squad based RTS.

I was going to get it on new release, but I've heard it's short (like about 10 hours short).... one quote I heard was that it was only 10 hours, but it was a great 10 hours. The cheap side of me decided to wait till to drops in price and pick it up pre-owned.

I'll ditto NWN as well, the only reason I stopped playing it was it's just on the edge of my system abilities and it bogged down too much on my old clunker.

Well, my recommendation for XBox would be Deus Ex: Invisible War, one of the best FPS/RPGs I've played. It's rated Mature, but there is barely any swearing anywhere in the game(trust me, I went through the whole game), and there is a small bit of blood.

My PS2 recommendation would be Timesplitters 2. This FPS is (dare I say?) as good or better than Halo, gameplay wise. Just play, and you'll find out. The only ting I saw wrong in the game was some of the characters are scantily dressed. Also, Champions of Norrath is quite the good, clean game, based on the Everquest series, but single player. The game also has a crazy-fun multiplayer option. Again, the only problem is wardrobe.

Gamecube? Hmm...Super Smash Brothers Meele and HM: IWL. 'Nuff said.

Hope that helps.

soooo what did you get?

my picks:

Ps2: THUG ( great single player, fun multi) i didnt hear any one talk bout SOCOM II ( great game!! online is the coolest! )

Gamecube: Custom Robo ( single player might stink but its all about 4 robos beating the lugnuts out of each other)

i dont know much about X-box but my sources tell me mechassault is a pretty decent game

My love of certain games is kinda awekward but if you're into rpg's, I'd recommend FFX or FFX2. Played 'em and they're good. If you like sport-ish games, I found HP Quidditch Tournament(GC) absolutely addicting (you can play as Japan!) for fighting, I liked Soul Caliber II (GC), and for racing, Mariokart Doubledash(GC) was VERY fun! But keep in mind my tastes are weird. I heard Kingdom Hearts (PS2) was actually very good and there's always.....DDR!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!! Dance Dance Revolution Max 2 is the best (PS2).

i love rpg's one game that I heard good reviews about is disagea (it is still pretty new though) then theres the prince of persia was good ( but you would probably want to get a stragey guide), dot.hack is a great series, kindom hearts, ratche and clank, ico (but that can be a hard game and I think there is only one boss in the entire game), dark alliance, and thats all i can think of right now. Most of these games are for ps2 i am not sure what you own, but i hope this helps. A game called ocean star comes out in august it looks really cool too, just thought I'd let you know.

I'll re-place my bid for Spiderman 2 now that I have it.... think of a Superhero game crossed with GTA.... what's really cool is you get to travel across all of the city of NY. Aside from the story missions, there are extra stuff you can just do, saving people from falling off buildings, stopping car-jackers, stopping a mugger, etc.

I played for 2-3 hours and barely scratched the game last nigth (note that I was avoiding doing the story missions to keep from learning too much about the plot of the movie before seeing it this morning).

Ok, I have all 4 next-gen systems (GBA, GCN, PS2, XBOX) and I have played and beaten Time Splitters 2, I've played .hack//INFECTION but it didn't really interest me...about as boring as the anime, IMO. I've played SC2, also, but it never interested me. Neverwinter Nights won't run on my comp very well.
What is Disagea about? I've heard it was really good, and that the new La Pucelle: Tactics rivals it.
I won't start a debate here, but I'd swallow a cockroach before I played anything concerning Harry Potter. I want to get Mario Kart: Double Dash. Thanks, though, everyone. I'm going to rent a few games as I'm going to Panama City Saturday, but I'm taking the laptop and my mom has net zero for it.
