thoughts on Wind Waker

Postby Hitokiri » Thu Jun 03, 2004 4:08 pm

I hear alot of bashing on the game Legend of Zelda; Wind Waker cause of it's graphics.

For me, I just love the game. Its like my number 1 favorite game and I like it much better then dare I say it, Ocarina of time (ONNNNGGGG!!!!!). I just love the use of a boat to travel and also one of my favorite new features is that Nintendo Gallery.

So my view on Wind Waker, it's awesome. Though I have yet to se eif this new Zeld agame coming out can beat Wind Waker for me at least.

I actually didn't care for WW, not because of the graphics, but because of the lack of land, the music was also... bleh for me too, and yes I did give this game a chance, I beat it.

I will not bash Wind Waker because of its graphics. If it is enjoyable, I will play it. In fact, I have nothing to say on the issue of Wind Waker, but that is not why I post in this thread. My purpose is to contest another statement made.

Hey I like the Wind Waker...really more as a standalone game (it really doesn't measure up to the other Zelda titles though). I like the cell shaded graphics a lot...especially with the combat animation. Some days I'd just turn it on just to hit enemies...b/c hitting enemies is fun :p. I played it, beat it, and enjoyed it. But I still like Majora's Mask better (which is an equally bashed zelda title heheh)

I loved Windwaker! Sometimes I think I'm the only one in the country that did, but I loved it. The graphics, the style, the designs, the gameplay--I don't have a single complaint about it. I loved the story, the music...just *everything*. It was easy enough not to get frustrated but hard enough to be challenging. I think it's probably my favorite zelda title.

Wind Waker was a great GC game. It had a few flaws but it was still very enjoyable and it sold very well.

Granted I loved Ocarina of Time but I wanted a change from riding a horse.

I'm a water person. I lvoe the water and I plan on living on the oceans up north somewhere or at leats near water. So bieng able to travel on the water is a bonus with a awesoem bopat that talks to you which is another plus.

I loved the fact how Wind Waker tied in with Ocarina which I found brilliant. Iloved all the new (and old) weapons and the option to pic them up. I loved all the crazy characters and also all the end bosses.

I liked all the side-quests such as trading stuff for Zunari's shop and my favorite, the Nintendo Gallery.

I loved Ocarina of Time, dont get me wrong. I plan on playing it again after I beat Wind Waker for like the 10th time

Wind Wake rjust appealed to me more. However I which is was longer, Wind Waker that is.

Perhaps you could retype that sentence. It does not make a lot of sense in its current form.

Other than that, I see your point. It is more of an issue that it is your favorite game, because of your preferances, which are obviously different from everyone else's. I don't have a problem with that.

what I pretty much meant is I prefer Wind Waker over Ocarina of Time.

But still Ocarina is by far a awesome game! I just like Wind waker better.

I don't like WW. Not because of the graphics (I thought it worked well) not because of the music (which fits the graphic style) but the gameplay

It was a long game with short levels. Its length wasn't due to cool in depth dungeons ala LTTP and OOT, but due to the sailing. I'll admit that I got sick of the game due to the amount of sailing that had to be done. I really couldn't be bothered with it anymore.

It's one game I honestly don't think I'll replay anytime soon. OOT I won't replay because of the Water Temple. WW I won't replay because of the Sailing. LTTP I replay all the time.
I am the Reaper of Souls... and it's harvest time.

Okay, I loved the Wind Waker graphics, story, and music. ^^;; But the thing I didn't like about it was the King of the Red Lions. He was all like... grrr.... and riding him was, like.... grrrr... and he talked too much. I like horses better than talking boats.

I thought Wind Waker was ok. I never had a problem with the graphics, however I did not enjoy sailing around for all that treasure. It became too much of a chore. Especially (I don't want to spoil this for anyone who hasn't gotten to this part, so forgive me :S)
when I had to look for those triforce pieces.
The ending, in my opinion, wasn't all that great either. It was an ok game though.

Cobalt: *lol* Epona should have been a talking horse.

wind waker was so different than the other zelda games... it's not really bad just different... i wish they'd go back to real-life looking zelda tho... but i think they are, i think they annonced doing a legend of zelda real life style, perhaps an actual sequal to ocarina?

one hting im surprised no one has commented on (i think I did) was the Nintendo Gallery. I aboslutely love that place and currently, I'm trying to get every single figurine.

Trying to get all the figurines gets addicting but they're quite fun to look at.
