I Used To Laugh At Old Men, Till I Became One

Postby Zarn Ishtare » Fri Jan 08, 2016 3:33 am

I've been a member of this forum for twelve years. That's a long time!

During that time, I grew to adulthood, joined the Marine Corps, went to Afghanistan, did seven years of active duty, got engaged, and started college. I've been around since 03/04ish; I decided recently to return to the active portion of the forum after a long time away. Rather than post a bunch of information that doesn't interest anyone, I'll open the floor for questions, if anyone has 'em. If not, just know that I'm a lurking old forum member and I endorse this message.

Heya! I think you were still active back when I joined, but it has been awhile. Glad to see ya back, esp. with the current climate here. What're you aiming for in college? (I'm just starting, myself.)

Welcome back. I remember you.

How old are you, may I ask? If you weren't yet an adult when you joined, then you are younger than I am.

Going to college full-time or part-time? Some of my co-workers are working on their degrees while working full-time, and that seems to be pretty burdensome.

I'll laugh at old men, even when I become one.

I would agree with this, but I'll never be an old man, so....

hehe welcome back Zarn.

"Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles." Psalm 25: 16-22

Will be 11 years in August for me. It's a surreal feeling, for sure.
