The Wind Rises

I saw Miyazaki's farwell film, The Wind Rises, and it was great! It's a historical fiction based on the life of Jiro Horikoshi, the designer of the Japanese fighter planes during World War II. It has wonderful imagery, and some sad moments too. I hope you guys go see it soon before it goes out of theatres. It's worth seeing it!

This isn't exactly a new thing. IIRC Gundam Unicorn, Evanjellyman, and Madoka Magika recently had OVA/movie releases (albeit *very* limited) at North American theaters. Not to mention the popular Ghibli films.

As for The Wind Rises, I rage quit early in production after a rumor stating that it was going to feature yet another case of human-turned-animal, glad to see that didn't turn out to be true. As a fan of aviation and history I'm sure I'll enjoy the film- though I probably won't get the chance to watch it in the near future.
