Hey there! It's Emma the Veritas here. I hope this is okay on this forum, or should it be in the videogame section?....
Anyways, what's all your favorite videogame music? I don't play many games except for Mario games, so expect me to not know what you may be talking about if its anything but... but feel free to post other genres anyways!
My favorites are:
Fawful's Theme in Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
The Dark Star Core Battle in M&L: Bowser's Inside Story
Plack Beach, Dimble Wood, Fawful's Castle, Broque Monsieur's Theme, Toad Town, the Main Theme, and Mario and Luigi's Field battle themes all in B.I.S,
Almost ALL the music for Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, especially the underground music, Toad Town, Princess Shroob's castle and the final battle with (SPOILERS!!!!) Elder Princess Shroob, and the Main Menu theme

The Underwhere theme, Count Bleck's Castle and Minions theme, Dimentio's theme (I mean who doesn't love that?), the Ultimate Show, Mr. L's theme, O'Chunks's theme, Tippi's memories theme, the Main Menu theme, (oh, for crying out loud...just ALL of the music) in Super Paper Mario,

Ooh boy. You've asked the question. I could talk for days on this one, but I'll keep it (relatively) brief.

I've always loved Frank Klepacki's work on the Command and Conquer series, like Mechanical Man, Pharotek, and Hell March.

For a slightly different flavor of electronica, there's the soundtrack to Einhander, the finest shmup Squaresoft ever made. The whole thing's pretty great, but there's a few that stand above the rest, like Thermosphere, Bloody Battle, Conflict (count the beats!), and Afterimage.

And speaking of shmups, there's Radiant Silvergun's The Stone-Like and Penta, most of Axelay's soundtrack (but mostly Colony and Silence), Rayforce's Penetration and Kimera II from G-Darius (both by Taito's house band Zuntata). There's also the greatly underrated freeware shmup Hydorah, weighing in with Klaverona and Untulia.

There's also the whole of the Barkley: Shut Up and Jam Gaiden soundtrack, but mostly johnathan taylor thomas(sic) and Eternity (borrowed from Blue Dragon and sung by the guy from Deep Purple, no less). Guilty Gear's got a few good tracks, like Haven't You Got Eyes In the Back Of Your Head?. And then there's F-Zero, be it Fire Field from GX, Silence from X, Tenth Zone East from Maximum Velocity, or Sand Ocean from the original. There's also Moon Over the Castle from Gran Turismo.

And lest we forget, Yuzo Koshiro was doing wonderful things with the Genesis sound chip with the Streets of Rage soundtrack, even if he did have to rip off of all the other '90s hip-hop and electronic artists to do it. Under Logic, Dreamer, and Fighting in the Street do the job.

I could go on, but that ought to be a good start.

Super Smash Bros 64 soundtrack. It's my favorite out of the series. It needs its own genre.

I love music from Capcom fighting games and beat em ups. like Final Fight, Armored warriors, Cyberbots, of course Street Fighter, so many memorable tracks. I also love the Megaman and old Sonic games music, though I like Megaman better. I would love to talk about what tracks are good and such. the Capcom marvel games music is really good especially Spider-man and Captain America's theme.

If I wanted to play a beat-em-up with a needlessly complicated plot wrapped around it, I'd sooner just play Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and watch Lost at the same time.
