La Maison en Petits Cubes. It's only 12 minutes, but 12 minutes of poignant feels. There's no speaking, which makes the music seriously moving as there's no subtitles to keep up with. I want to re-watch, but it's totally going to make me cry again.

@skreyola: It's on Crunchyroll, though at the moment it's only available for their paid members (or via a free trial). I actually have some Guest Passes available to give out, though, which allow the user to try out a premium membership for free for 48 hours, so if you don't already have a paid membership there yet (which is well worth it, BTW :thumb: ) and you'd like to watch it anyway, just PM me and I'll gladly get you one. :)
Saved by grace.

MangaRocks! wrote:Hetalia: Axis Powers ep.'s 1-4 (dub), DROPPED:

Eh, I actually watched the first four episodes of this ages ago and have had the series on hold ever since, but at this point I don't really intend to continue it, so I'm going to finally just mark this as dropped. Yes, I think the *concept,* at least, was good; yes, the outrageous accents were amusing (which is the reason I chose the dub); and yes, some of it was actually truly hilarious (this bit in particular is still one of my favorite comedy clips, and is in fact the very video that actually got me to start watching the show in the first place)... however, as it turned out, the rest of the time the humor was either too edgy or not funny enough for me to really enjoy it, and then after ep. 4 I just got bored. :sweat: Oh well.

Hetalia is definitely an acquired taste. I'm a fan now, but it took me a while to look at anything besides Himaruya's art. At this point, though, I feel like some months of my Funimation subscription are only paying for me to re-watch my favorite episodes. I'm never going to finish Soul Eater at this rate. XD

Which brings me to what I'm currently watching, or trying to watch: Soul Eater. I'm also getting caught up in re-watching Hetalia: Beautiful World, which is unusual for me because I'm not big on watching subs. The animation style is very pretty, though.

@peacenotus
Is not Excalibur worth the effort it takes to continue your quest to watch Soul Eater? After all, his story begins in the 12th century... (I think I mean that sarcastically... I have a love/hate emotion for Excalibur, haha).

While I normally try to stick to one anime at a time, for various reasons I've found myself watching three. They are:
Sword Art Online :sweat: (rewatching, of course)
A Certain Scientific Railgun (there's some six episodes that aren't available online yet)
And... Fruits Basket. Yup. I've actually avoided posting in this thread as to not admit to it. But hey, it's enjoyable. At first I thought it was a little slow paced, but that chanced when Tohru SPOILER: Highlight text to read: finally met Akito. I'm on episode eighteen now.

Also, apparently there's something about short, purple haired, reserved and mostly emotionless characters named Yuki.
Here's the Fruit version.
And here's the Haruhi variety.

@John_Smith
Fruits Basket is great! The manga is so much better though.
I've never noticed the similarities between the two Yuki... until now. I wonder how Sohma-kun would feel about being compared to Nagato.

He probably wouldn't like being compared to alien/android with trouble showing her emotions... What's interesting though, is that Nagato probably would like the compariosn, because that would make her feel more human. But that’s another similarity between them: they both question their ability to connect to people. Huh, now I'm going to have to write a little compare and contrast on them after I finish Fruits Basket.

You are definitely correct about their tendency to question their ability to connect with those around them. I'd like to see your list - I'm intrigued!

Bakemonogatari ep 12: I was really surprised by how sweet and touching this episode was, not something I was expecting from this series at all.

I'm still watching Natsume s2 and Dennou Coil alongside the above, only have a few episodes left of each and then I have to make the complicated decision of what to watch next.

faithb4sight and skreyola,
Thanks! I'll post it somewhere once I finish Fruits Basket. Unfortunately, data limitations have cut into my anime watching. I've resorted to watching it in Starbucks…
I'm still on episode eighteen though :eyeroll:

I randomly started Prétear last night and buzzed through all but three episodes. Stayed up really late in the process... finished the rest this evening. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it! It's not perfect by any measure and does have some material where you wonder why on earth it needed to be there but... wow, now I have to buy it. -.-

Baccano! episodes 8-12 - Only one more disc to go! ^_^ I'd forgotten about a lot of awesome things that happen in this chunk of the story, including wonderful lines like, "He was swallowed whole! I'm so glad!" (or something to that effect XD)

Just finished watching dog and scissors, it had quite a bit of fanservice and innuendo but was mostly played for laughs and was a nice change of pace for me, i really enjoyed some of the humor and am willing to watch other more comedic anime because of it

Finished Silver Spoon. Great show. Highly recommended.
Almost done with Maria Watches Over Us, which is really cute in places and had potential, but is not nearly as cool as I expected with all the names attached to it of people whose other shows I'd enjoyed led me to think it would be. In particular, there's some yuri content.

Just started Sword Art Online. One episode in and I already like it, especially how everything was explained, like how the nerve gear was able to sense their body structure.

Watched the new Aura movie. Despite my recent lauding of Romeo Tanaka in the Best of 2012 thread, it had a few glaring issues. Not bad though. Even though the most basic premise is exactly like Chuunibyou, it's quite different in its approach.

I just finished A Certain Scientific Railgun. I liked the season as much as the last, but I also think that it got bogged down by the fact that about half of it was just going into more detail about an arc that was already covered in Magical Index. Now I need to track down that movie!

On Fruits Basket, I've made a measly progress of three episodes. :( But I'm steadily going through it. I swear people are giving me odd looks in Starbucks though...
