Watched the first episode of Lupin the Third Part I yesterday.

Why? Because.

What did I think of it? I have no idea. It's an anime from the late '70s it is so different form anything else I have ever seen (closest other shows being Giant Robo and a bit of Speed Racer) that I can't really compare it properly to anything. There are elements that I look a and say 'oh that's cheesy, what a cheap show' but this is probably one of those situations where it is in fact not cheesy, it is one of the shows that gave us this or that element that later became cheesy from overuse.

It is a show I don't know enough about to give any more than a purely subjective review of; and that review is: that I don't know what to make of it, it's something else entirely I need to watch more of it and other shows like it to give any sort of comparison.

I don't know how much more I will watch. I picked up one episode on a whim and I don't know how long that whim will carry me, but for now I'm on a classic anime kick.

Post 1k.

[tangent]
On a less serious note the oddest thing I noticed about this show is that people have body hair, specifically some people actually have hair drawn on the backs of their hands.

It's like the anti-moe or something.

^Found it. Congrats and a round of applause.

To stay on topic, watched another episode of Chu2Koi. If I ever get caught up in the other sixteen shows I'm watching, I plan to finish it.

Stella Women’s Academy High School Division Class C3. (Still trying to figure out a catchy acronym)

GOOD LORD, the sound effects are realistic. Like, spot on the target. It's weird hearing that beautiful whirrrpttpttpttptt coming from a 2D animation. As for the episode proper, it's... actually not as bad as I thought. I found myself chuckling in a few places. All in all it's a surprisingly accurate portrayal of the real deal, right down to people thinking it's a game for weirdos and a lack of interest/support from the general populace. SPOILER: Highlight text to read: I think I'm in love with this series.

Started The Daily Lives of High School Boys, which has me laughing, a lot.

Finished Arata the Legend and all I can say is well, at least it's over now.

Still watching Humanity has Declined, this show is not what I expected at all, but in a good way, and Kids on the Slope, which is really good.

Bakemonogatari ep.'s 1-15 (complete):

Wow. I'd heard a lot about the Monogatari series, and was already planning on reading the novels (in fact, right after watching this-- since the two Bakemonogatari novels themselves aren't quite done being translated yet-- I started reading the next-published one in line, Kizumonogatari, which conveniently enough *is* already translated :thumb: )... but, after hearing about how unique the anime adaptation for Bake... is, I figured, why not watch it as well? And I'm glad I did-- because, yes, it was quite unique indeed. :thumb: Of course, there *are* the requisite content warnings, which Maokun covered quite well in this review-- along with the series' strengths :) -- so I don't really have much to add there. But, yeah, while it is indeed definitely not for everyone, I enjoyed it. :)
Saved by grace.

T-thanks for pointing that out (why did you do this to me). I shall never refer to it as "C3" ever again.

The full name is "Tokurei Sochi Dantai Stella Jo-Gakuin Kōtō-ka C3-Bu", or eigo de "Stella Women’s Academy, High School Division Class C3".

I'd say "Stella C3" is the most logical, or "Stella Academy". And just seeing your sig image makes me want to check it out. Be sure to let us know how it is, content-wise. :)

Oh, and I've been watching Aria: The Animation with great enjoyment since it appeared on Hulu.
And waiting anxiously for new episodes of Railgun S.

*sigh of relief* Oh, good. You had me worried for a second there. I thought I overestimated you. All that aside, that looks like a really intriguing anime. I shall have to take a look (my to-watch list keeps growing, and I never seem to make any progress).

I've revisited Saiunkoku. Besides Envy from FMAB, Saukujun might be one of my favorite villains. That character has depth, especially at his end.

Humanity has Declined 8: The Assistant has Silence (Doctor Who) powers!

Nichibros 7: All the girls in this show are violent, freaks or violent freaks... so exactly like high school boys see them then. I love the ED, it's fantastic.

Kids on the Slope 8: I'm interested how the love triangle conga line gets resolved now that it's collapsing in on itself.

Finished Kids on the Slope and it was wonderful. The ending went in a direction I wasn't expecting but it was just beautiful. The last jam session ties with the school festival one as my favourite. Recommended for anyone who likes friendship, jazz and good things.

Well, my insatiable curiosity is...insatiable. I watched the first episode of Stella Women's Academy, High School Division Class C-3 (I have this urge to call it SWASDCA, which sounds like swastika). Muahaha! I love it! The first couple minutes was like "Whaaa...? H-sama watches this?!" But after the opening, I realized how great it was. I shall continue watching this show, for sure. All of a sudden, I desperately want to delve into the sport of airsoft.
When Rento explained the beauty of airsoft, I suddenly understood H-sama...

I've finally started getting back into anime after a couple months of not watching any. I picked Clannad back up from where I'd randomly dropped it, watching episode 20.

Finally finished My Daddy Long Legs! Overall, my feelings are mixed. I think I mentioned some time ago that the two things that I loved about the source novel were Judy's development as a writer and the romance. Well, at first I was happy with the last third of the series, because it focused primarily on the romance. But when I got to the end, I found myself wondering: what happened to Judy's desire to be a novelist? SPOILER: Highlight text to read: Sure, she went to college, but she didn't say anything about her desire to keep writing books! It was as if her identity as an artist was swallowed up by her new identity as Jervis's wife. And I really didn't like that.

There were some real strengths to the show. While I wasn't a fan of the character design (not initially, anyway) I loved the watercolor-looking backgrounds. And I felt like Judy genuinely grew as a character over the course of the series, and I was impressed with that.

In the end, though, I think the series had two major flaws. First, there was no need to extend the story for 40 episodes. A traditional 24-26 episode season would have been plenty of room, and then there wouldn't have been as many short pointless arcs that went nowhere. Second, I still think it was a mistake to make Judy a high school student rather than a college student. SPOILER: Highlight text to read: When Jervis finally describes the process of falling in love with Judy, it sounds like he fell in love with her when she was only 14-15, which is kinda creepy by most people's standards today. I'm okay with age gaps in a relationship in some cases, but in this case, that could have been entirely avoided simply by following the original source material more closely!

Still, I'd recommend the series to fans of shoujo anime who have a particular interested in writing or who are attracted to the 1920s historical setting.

Just finished episode two of Stella C3-bu. Interesting scenario, I've done a VIP-styled mission before. Sadly when our squad handed him off to our teammates, he got captured by the enemy and was summarily executed for his connections to an illegal arms trade.

Oh I enjoyed that book, maybe I'll check it out.

Never mind.

Watched the first episode of Star Driver which is wonderfully flamboyant and fabulous. The robot (are they robots?) Tauburn's hat when it first appears is so great. The red and blue hair colour scheme is giving me Penguindrum flashbacks though so I'm a little cautious. (Yes I know this was first.)

EDIT: Forgot to mention I finished both Humanity has Declined and Daily Lives of Highschool Boys.

-Danganronpa (...creepy)
-Free!
-Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou
-Kamisama no Inai Nichiyoubi
-Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku (soooo....boring)
-Shingeki no Kyojin (I'm not crazy about the amount of violence- but good plot)
