Softball!

Postby Spirit_Wolf8356 » Mon May 31, 2004 5:43 pm

Okeydokey, I saw a baseball thread, but no softball.

Softball is my sport. I've been playing it since I was 6. My team's doing really well this year! We're undefeated! (13-0) ^_^

Does anyone else play softball? Any interesting stories to tell? I'm all ears!

i just started playing softball for the church it makes a great substitute for baseball i wasnt at first used to hitting the ball with a long bat so i went and bought a shorter one similiar to my baseball bat and i used to get confused with the big and small balls because im catcher right now lol that was another thing its slow pitch and the ball like drops were as baseball it goes strait to your glove yeah my team is doing good too 2-0 the season just started though and our last 2 games were canceld cant wait til tomorrows game!!

I played softball around 6th grade and I was horrible at it...really. I liked to play it and all, but my teammates were really competitive, and it wasn't exactly a friendly experience, so I quit. Then 9th grade came around and we had to play softball for PE...once more I thought I was horrible, due to previous experience, but then the teacher came up to me and said I was varsity material...that kinda stunned me then and there. So eh...guess I'm playing for the team next year ^_^

Congrats on your records, SpiritWolf and gohan!

That's cool, PotBelliedCow! (There's no real way to shorten your name is there?) I wish my school still had a softball team.

I'm a catcher myself. ^_^ The other girls on my team make me feel special, cuz they tell me they only trust me when they throw home and our one pitcher only pitches for me.

I actually got to make two plays the other day. (It sounds really pathetic when said that way...) It was so fun! I'm just glad our first baseman was there to catch them...most catchers on my league are the worst player, but I'm one of the better catchers up there...she's new to the team, so she didn't know this. So when I got the ball, I didn't even think about that, but she was there to get it. Most catchers just hold the ball. ^_^

thats cool lol only thing i dont like is the occasional foul ball right to the face like today i got hit right in the jaw and 2 games ago i got hit right above my right eye lol ive made quite a few plays from catcher as well i really enjoy playing im the only one on my team that plays catcher that can catch the ball when they throw it in the other girl she like runs away from the ball when our short stop launches one to home to get an out but since she runs she misses it..but still were all just out there for fun so i dont mind being moved around wherever coach tells me woohoo im excited for thursdays game

Primarily played baseball.. but had one memorable experience with a softball. It was the first time I has held one so against better instincts I decided to find out how "soft" the ball was. The test was to toss the ball at my forehead. Clonk! @.@

Heheh...yea a softball isn't that soft. My friend has personal experience...we were playing catch during PE when I threw the ball and it hit her right in the chest...ow.

My dad hit me in the chest with a line drive one time. That was killer. ^_^

Dude, no face mask? :eyebrow: I've been hit before too. Got hit by a bat in the back of the head once. ^_^ Very glad for my helmet then.

Our last game before the tournament was tonight. We won by four runs, making us undefeated for the season! Yay! :jump: I don't know how we did it either. If any of the teams we play saw us at practice, they wouldn't believe it was the same team.

On another note, I made two outs tonight. ^_^ Daddy told me before the game, that's what I had to do, and I hate letting people down.

That kinda sucks, ssj2gohan61. I have a mask and a chest protector, but I hate wearing the chest protector. I think my shins have become immune, though. ^_^

I'm the catcher, plain and simple. ^_^ Wouldn't have it any other way. I warn off anyone who tries to take it from me. I used to have to share it with another team member, but she became our pitcher, and we always play around saying we make a great team.

I have no idea. ^_^ I hit almost every time I get up. Doesn't mean it goes very far though.

lol thats cool ive hit everytime too on the first swing haha rather go down swinging then not swing at all.. for some reason i think being catcher made me a better hitter then when i used to be short :( i couldnt play short because i wasnt tall enough or something lol and i dont know im not the greatest at it the guy there now is really good so i cant complain we're doing good undefeated so far... im hoping for an undefeated season :)

I love softball, but I don't play for a team.

I work for the Stratford Brakettes and I got to meet the Olympic team!

BTW: Who watched the finals in Olympic Softball?
