Don't worry about the rant :), mine was much worst when I ranted about the episode. It's still one of my least favorite episodes, but I can appreciate it's place in the series, and I still think it teaches one of the best lessons than any of the other episodes.

I can agree with you on that. I should really like the episode, because it shows its distinguishing factors of other TV series of the same type. It was a HILARIOUS episode, but I agree with you that in terms of story, I found it not one of my favorites to say the least.

And regarding the Discord battle, the final battle with Nightmare moon, I felt there was more of a moment of hoplesness like there was no way things were going to turn out okay. With Discord's battle,
Princess Celestia was there to assist them in realizing one of the real meanings of Friendship, as opposed to them finding out for themselves. It just didn't feel quite as hopeless. And Discord's goal may have been rather awful, Nightmare Moon's goal just seemed more intimidating and dangerous.
I see what you mean. For me the way Discord was defeated fitted so well with what he did and the type of villain he was, it never left me with the need for more. I can definitely see the point of someone who would have liked a bit more though.

I can see your point as well. And it wasn't like his defeat made no sense, he would naturally think they were still under bad terms with each other, but like you said, I just have a different opinion.

In other news, I watched Luna Eclipsed (decent episode, but kind of freaked me out with Luna calling herself we and us.) And episode 10 of season 2 (in case you didn't know, when Spike becomes a greedy lunatic.) The latter was easily a much better episode because:
It addressed a question I had throughout all of season 1, and the little I have watched of season 2. Even though I personally thought a dragon having a crush on a pony was, well WEIRD, this episode actually made it seem so heartwarming. I actually thought it was rather sweet. But it does show a dark side of Spike (like the one we saw in the incident with Owlicious.) And of course chasing down mad Spike was hilarious as well. This episode is definitly one of my favorites, and had a certain charm about it that Luna Eclipsed didn't.
Note: I watched 10 of season 2 because my younger sisters wanted to see it. Just to let you know.

Now you see. I really like 'Luna Eclipse', it's one of my favorite episodes. Granted we had to wait a year for the return of Luna, so there was a lot of hype attached to it. And they didn't disappoint. I really like 'Caps Lock' Luna. Also their was so much awesomeness throughout the episode. Voodoo Mac, CMC as Dracula, werewolf and Frankenstein. Derpy styling bags, the first time we had a real fan shout out with Derpy, Colgate in a dentist costume. Rainbow Shadowbolt! And Fluttershy was epic. There's just too much to mention.

I can understand how the long wait might have made it have more hype attached to it. It was a pretty good episode, and it was a good way to reintroduce Luna into the canon. I mean, there was a lot of stuff good about this episode. I'm not trying to diss it, if that's what you think I'm saying. I just prefered the other episode I covered with spoiler tags (whatever it was called.) I mean, I completley understand why you liked it so much. But, how exactly was Fluttershy "epic" in that episode? Just inquiring,

I'd never think you were dishing an episode, I was just being passionate about it. :)

Episode 10 is called 'Secret of My Excess”

Fluttershy was epic because: First she freaks out when Twilight knocks. And then her line 'Perfect.' and she ran into the door. And finally she goes all limp when Luna hugs her. That whole sequence was one of my favorites in the season. It's funny, cute, sad, touching and maybe a little scary all wrapped into one scene.

Ah, I see. I found it pretty epic myself, now that I think about it.

LOL on your location by the way! :)

Do you have anything to say about Secret to My Excess by the way? (Just wondering.)

LOL on your location by the way!

Thanks.

Got to admit, I never really got into the Spike x Rarity thing. The episode itself was very fun, and had some of the best gags in it. “I'm assaulting him with cake!â€

:IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Guys, guys, guys! I almost completely forgot! Come on, we have to band together and you have to help me out. And I mean all of the Bronies here, I need everypony's help.
We have to think of a wedding present! And I mean the best wedding present EVER! And I'm not good at picking wedding presents.
So my idea is to get them a blender. You know, because a blender is so great for just about any dimension. Especially in a society of vegetarians. You could blend your fruit and flowers and make some neat smoothies and everything. But I don't know if that's a good gift idea. So come on, give me more ideas, especially all the girl Bronies, because maybe you know a bit more about wedding gifts.

My thoughts on the whole Spike + Rarity thing: I definitely don't care for shipping in any measure, but I actually quite enjoy Spike and Rarity's relationship, because it is so one-sided. It's funny and cute that Spike has such a crush on Rarity, and everybody knows about it and just kinda plays along, and he is so serious about it, but everyone knows that nothing serious could ever happen between them for obvious reasons. I think Rarity is also fully aware of Spike's feelings and just kind of plays along good-naturedly. I love the interactions between them in Secret of My Excess, because my personal take on it is that as Spike's about to admit his crush on her, she shushes him to let him know that she already knows about it, but she doesn't want it verbalized because she would then have to tell him the obvious, that it will never happen. I personally feel like there is a LOT communicated non-verbally in that simple action, and Spike sort of realizes that it's not going to happen, but that Rarity still cares about him a lot as a sort of little brother relationship. I think the whole scene with them falling and then on the bridge at the end is very sweet and innocent and very well written. I think it's one of the best-done scenes of the series. Then again, that's just my take,

And a wedding gift, huh? Hmm... do they even have electricity in Ponyville? A blender wouldn't be much good without it. But I guess Rarity's sewing machine runs on something. Magic? Maybe it could be a magic-fueled blender. Or we could get them some matching horseshoes for their special dates. Meh, I'm not much good at thinking up wedding presents either!

That is a very interesting take on that episode. And I believe you are probably right. That does seem to be the way they were doing things in that episode. I mean, you know a dragon and a pony could never be together, as you already said. But regardless, they needed to completley wrap up that whole issue in that episode, and if your take is correct (it probably is), then Spike x Rarity is no longer going to be a sub plot point in the series at all. It was a fun episode, and I am glad they wrote it. And another ground to compliment the writers on.

I still can't think of a wedding gift. :( Any other ideas?

In other news, I finished Sisterhooves Social. A pretty good episode, very heartwarming. The writers did a good job of realesticially portraying the conflict between two sisters. The ending was cool to. It was a humorous episode on occasion, but not as much put in as some episodes.

Sisterhooves Social is my second most favorite episode. I love sweet episodes like this and we learned so much about Sweetie Belle. And I also love this song which was made for the episode! Let your mane down

I've never really looked at that scene from that angle Felix, that's a really good take on it and I like it, I'll be watching that episode from now on with that in mind.
Also remember Vinyl's mixing board and Twilight's Pinkie sense reader machine. :P
And matching horseshoes sound like a good idea, I'm putting it on the list.

Come on everypony we need even more ideas, we want the Bride and Groom to receive something really nice, don't we?

I just watched The Cutie Mark Chronicles episode. :) It was cute, as all the episodes are.

Another great episode and another favorite of mine. My favorite back stories would have to be Twilight and AJ. And traveler Rarity was hilarious.
We also get a new view on Rarity and AJ's social rivalry with this episode. How AJ actually knows about Rarity's side of life and actively kicks against it, rather than being ignorant about it.

And Sno you need to help give us ideas for a wedding gift for two ponies, I know you're not that far yet, but who knows what crazy things we're going to come up with if you don't help us.

Aww, you think my gift ideas would be that good? :) Haha, where do I go to suggest them? Is everypony talking about it on here?

I'll brainstorm to see what I can come up with. I'm guessing this is for the Shining Armor and Princess Cadence wedding?

Yes, you can give your suggestions here, and yes it's for the Shinning Armour and Princess Cadence wedding. :)

Hasbro has a real live big shot covering the wedding. (Somepony help me out here, I don't know these peoples names )

Cutie mark Chronicles was a really good episode. First time we get to see the pasts of the Mane Six after all. But, they make a mistake in the background of Twilight's story. Derpy is there as the same age as the other Mane six in the presant time. Since they were just pallete swapping for the background ponies, I can understand a mistake like that, but it just makes me think, "How old is Derpy anways?"

Hasbro has a real live big shot covering the wedding?! Where did you hear about this?

Doesn't matter, you can see Doctor Whooves in some of those backgrounds, so I'm hoping you catch my meaning.

Found it! I almost thought it disappeared. EqD hiding it under the heading 'Princess Cadence learns to spell' Sheesh! :eyeroll:

Have some copy paste from EqD:
She's a pretty pony princess who loves tiaras, and a character so finely developed deserves only the finest of royal treatments. Celestia, of course, knows this and has pulled out all of the stops for her special day. Silk dresses, the finest of jewels freshly dug out from two inches underneath the ground, Pinkie Pie's... er... "special" cookies. And what wedding would be complete without a bridle shower?

On April 14th, she'll get just that. Actress and royal wedding connoisseur Tori Spelling has been hired for the task of celebrating and covering all the juicy details for our newest alicorn's big day. And why not? After her role as a co-host to the coverage of the wedding of Prince William, could there be anypony more qualified to handle this auspicious event? Is Pinkie Pie hitting the cupcakes too hard again, or is there something more to that little pudge she has going on? Keep your eyes peeled on Culver City, and on your televisions for more commercials!

And in all seriousness, have you ever seen this kind of publicity for an episode of a cartoon? I can hardly fathom what's going on here. If you're not watching the Season 2 finale as it airs, then I pity you.

Even if I haven't caught up, I will be there. It just makes me shocked. This is going to beat Hearts and Hooves day as the most viewed episode of the series of all time.

I feel sad because it's likely I won't be able to watch it on the day it airs. I never get to watch them on Saturday. I usually catch them on TV during the week. Usually they have Saturday's episode airing again on Monday and Friday at around 11:30 I've noticed.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

:D Oh man, I think we'll keep that idea for a little later. We don't want to freak out the Bride and Groom with parenthood just yet.

@Topaz I also have to wait a day or two before I'm able to see the episode. :sniffle: But I'm going to try and see the final as early as I can, :) So what do you think? What would make a really nice present for the happy couple?
