Praise --though I'm nervous about it

I had gotten back in touch with my aunt in the past month and we are talking again. I am going to the family Thanksgiving get-together for the first time in 2 years (missed last year's and last Christmas as well).

I am hopeful, but nervous because of things that have happened in the past (long story, but some very not-pretty stuff happened last year and the year before). I really want to have a relationship with my aunt, uncle, cousins -- I love them very much and I am hopeful that the trends of the past won't come back. But I am also cautious because I am afraid of getting hurt again.

Please pray. My aunt is having some serious health issues as well, so it would be awesome if we can be there for each other.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Praying. I hope this goes really well. It sucks not to have family at holidays.

Had a lot of fun with my family today! Got to hold and visit with my sweet 7-month old second cousin, eat amazing food (the brownies were a hit!), play some Wii and talk/catch up. And got sent home with a plate heaped with food

Thanks for praying, y'all! Everything went well and we had no squabbles. And in fact had a really good time! :D
