Roommates & College...

Postby airichan623 » Fri Oct 14, 2011 10:36 am

I need you guys' prayer. My roommate and I cannot get along, and I need to move out. Basically, we've tried everything, but she's too inflexible and I can't change myself anymore than I already have. :( Please pray that I will be able to figure out where I will go from here...I'll either be moving in with a girl down the hall or with my "suitemate" (we share a bathroom between our rooms)

However, I also need your prayer in relation to my motivation. Due to the situation above, I slowly began sinking back down into my depression from this previous year. I love the friends I've made, but I still feel depressed. This, in turn, has lead to me sleeping more and not doing much of my homework. Please pray that I can give this over to God.

God Bless.

Ah Ive been having some sadness about my college situation as weII. Although a bit different I also had let it get in the way of my schoolwork because my mind would dwell on my loneliness at times I should have been focused on work. (I know how it feels to be having troubles get in the way of important stuff is what I'm trying to say.) So yeah I'll pray for you. And if your sleeping to much maybe you could try making a schedule to follow. Scheduling times to do school work and setting a bed time/time to get up in the morning.

 What are you majoring in? College work is so stressful. I just prayed for you darlin'.
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." Ephesians 2:1-7

Roommate issues can be very not fun (I speak from experience), but you have a plan in place to remedy that situation, so keep your chin up --things will get better! Think about what you have to look forward to --you're in college and you've made new friends --take out a notebook and write down your blessings.

I've found that to be very helpful when I am feeling very overwhelmed by a situation. Keeping track of the good when you feel like you are drowning in the bad is a good way to keep things in perspective.

Good luck to you! Let us know how things go after the move. :)
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"Since the creation of the Internet, the Earth's rotation has been fueled, primarily, by the collective spinning of English teachers in their graves."
