I just want to tell you something that I learned last night, and it's a super comforting thing to know.
I think too many times we as Christians like to pretend we are on this "ladder" when it comes to our relationship with Christ. When we are at our highest spiritual high we are at the tip top! And we can like hold hands with Jesus and that's our idea of Closeness... But then something happens and we suddenly find ourselves falling down the rungs until we look up and Jesus looks down at us confused, as if he's saying. "Where did you go?" And then we feel like we are in this pit and forever alone again...
But that's NOT how it really is. If we have Christ in us, the holy spirit in us, then how can we possibly be separate at all? I believe we are always sitting with Christ, sometimes it's just an awkward silence on our part (as you mentioned you aren't praying or reading your Bible at the moment.) How can you possibly feel okay when you aren't having a conversation with God? This is why your mind is telling you, that you are alone. It's tricking you and maybe its saying "I'm not trying so God is angry at me and left me and now I don't even know if he's real."
He's right there with you, Rig. Just talk to him. We can pray for you all we can, but you need to actually step out and have a conversation with Him. Because if you don't, you will continue to feel this way. I know because this is something every Christian goes through at one point in time or another.

Oh, and this may or may not be helpful, but the next time you pray, don't treat it like prayer. What I mean is just talk to Christ just like he's your best friend, not some big scary judge. Don't ask for help like normal but just state your problems plainly, just like you would a confidante. I do it because typical prayer sounds either fake or like a list of demands. That seems like the attitude of some little brat rather than that of a devoted child or servant.
Anyway, when I talk to the Big Man again, I'll mention you.
Oh, and ,uh, Mewster sorry about the misunderstanding with the ball.
