Hi, I'm New!

Hi everyone, well as my title suggest, I'm new to this forum! my name is Ben but online I prefer to go by as either Death, Whispers or Death Whispers. Some things you should know about me are that I suffer from depression, anxiety and Asperger syndrome, so at times I may do or say something without thinking first. I am also a student of Jehovah's Witnesses and as I have gone through many other denominations, I have found that Jehovah's Witnesses actually teach what the Bible says without taking from or adding to the meanings of what is meant in it! I am very opinionated, strong-minded, straight-forward, up-front, strong-willed and I believe very strongly in what I believe in! Other than that, I am usually very friendly and open, so please feel free to come and say hi either in this thread, via pm or via vm :) I'll usually reply straight away (unless I am in a game, away from the computer or offline (due to bed or what-not)...

Probably melodic/speed/power/fantasy metal with a bit of gothic

Also I'm having a bit of trouble posting in the jam session thread, sometimes my post shows and sometimes it doesn't...

When you say you answer quickly you're not kidding! I'm an alt rock man myself, but I do listen to some of the genres you mentioned. If you ever release an album or single please be sure to let me know.

Also, I've been dabbling in song writing. Perhaps we could work on a project when you do form a group?

that'd be great, though I've gotta warn you, I do not sing about such things that are NOT in the Bible such as the trinity, the immortality of the soul (or in other words the soul being the same as the spirit), the cross, and such things like that...

Incase you didn't read above, I am a student of Jehovah's Witnesses hence my stance on not believe in the Trinity, that the soul is the same as spirit, the Cross (both the actual thing and in taking it up/wearing it) and not believing in the trinity...

I was unaware that Jehovah's Witnesses believe all those things. Perhaps we could have a discussion about it in the theology board or by PM sometime. I do agree with you on one point though, that the soul and the spirit are two different things.

As far as singing about that stuff, I actually prefer secular rock over Christian rock so it shouldn't be an issue. I'd keep it all clean, of course.

Sweet and yeah, I found a song I wrote like 3 years ago, pretty heavy stuff... I was going through a really rough and lonely time in my depression/anxiety so yea

oh and my avatar and signature banner were both done by me :)

though I don't know why my signature isn't showing :S

Just because you have different religious beliefs doesn't mean you aren't welcome on this site. We all have our own opinions and beliefs after all. There are certainly a lot of things I don't agree with concerning mainstream Christianity and what-not and I'm still here. The other members of CAA are kind and understating people. As long as your aren't shoving your beliefs down their throats or trying to convince then you are 100% right then you should be fine.

You have excellent taste in music! I love all kinds of metal but my favorites are melodic, power, melo-death, and folk metal... but really just about anything except straight on black metal or metalcore/grindcore stuff. And yes I love bands that add a little gothic flair to their music... gives it a dark edge.

What are your favorite bands?

No one's going to chase you off here for being a different religion than us. We've had atheist members in the past and welcomed them with open arms.

However, as a word of warning, if you get involved in the theology threads, your beliefs are absolutely going to be argued against. It's nothing personal, but it is gonna happen. My suggestion is you probably should avoid the theological threads and just have fun in all the other threads. It'll likely be less stressful for you.

First off, please don't leave just because everyone doesn't agree with your beliefs :) I'm not a Jehovah's witness and I might not agree with the belief system's there entirely, but that doesn't mean we can't get along :) Also (I'm not trying to start a huge debate and am simply asking out of curiosity), what exactly are the main Jehovah's Witness's beliefs? I get the not believing in the trinity (cause you're right - it isn't mentioned in the Bible), but I was wondering about the not believing in the cross? I was just wondering the specifics of what the meant. Once again, I'm simply asking because I'm curious as to what Jehovah's Witness's doctrine is - since I've never actually known. If this is the wrong place to ask this question, or you don't want to tell me, then that's fine and I totally understand. Once again, welcome and please enjoy the site! I haven't been here long, but all the people seem very welcoming and I doubt any of them will judge you for your beliefs or anything :)

Awesome! I assume you mean gothic metal, which is great, but if you could find a way to mix gothic rock and power metal that doesn't sound ridiculous, that would be amazing. And your sn is awesome. I wish I had thought of it.

What are your favorite authors and books?

Have you ever seen Summer Wars. If you haven't, you should watch it. It's awesome.

Yes, I'd like to know that too. All the information I get is pretty all over the place. Oh and Aspie Alert, folks it's an Aspie Alert. Looks like we got another nut in this can.

Welcome to CAA! I've actually had an extended conversation over email with a Jehovah's Witness so I know some of what they believe.

For those who are curious about their beliefs, I have some of the explanations of beliefs he sent me, and I would happily attach them to a PM if you are curious about what he believes and what his reasoning is.
