Public Service-Dog Announcement

Postby Sheenar » Fri Aug 26, 2011 7:56 am

I normally don't post service dog-related things here, but this one is applicable to the general public and is an important thing to disseminate to everyone.

This is from a friend's blog:

Public Service-Dog Announcement

And, yes, I have had all the things she mentioned happen to me and my service dogs as well. Adults are the main problem, too. It's crazy to see how some people act in public...
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"Since the creation of the Internet, the Earth's rotation has been fueled, primarily, by the collective spinning of English teachers in their graves."

There is a guy I know at school who is blind and has a service dog and he was telling me all the problems he has with this kind of thing. He was explaining to me how people don't understand that when the dog is working that he isn't a normal dog.
I have come to the realization that people are idiots.

Thank you Sheenar!
This is very important to know.
Thank you for the post.

Nice, I've wondered why people do it when they know better...
And this I pray, that your love would abound still, more and more with real knowledge and all discernment. Be prepared to preach the gospel at a moment's notice. Do you know the gospel well enough to do so yourself? Be ready.

I wish this could be posted more places where people could see it. Most of the sites I hang out on are ones where people are, y'know, sane. I don't get why people act like that. It's ridiculous.

Yeah, I've seen people do some ridiculous things around my service dogs. Sometimes I wish I had gotten some of it on camera...for the lulz.

A grown man barking at a dog who is ignoring him is quite funny.

I'm posting this link on twitter and urging re-tweets. More people need to be aware of this kind of thing. I don't have, nor do I personally know anyone outside of the internet, with a disability needing service-dog assistance, but as stated above, people are idiots, and they need to be informed.
